The stage is set, and our CPB Contractors team as part of Spark, is gearing up for another big year of project milestones on the Victorian Government’s North East Link Tunnel project, including: 🏗Works on NEL’s ventilation structure are ramping up, and in the coming months, the stack will become more visible in the surrounding area. 💥A Tunnel Boring Machine breakthrough into the Lower Plenty Road box will happen in the coming weeks. 🚧In the south, crews have resumed work on the Sequential Excavation Method (SEM) tunnels, and these are set to break through in the coming months. Once finished, the 430-metre SEM tunnel will connect the main tunnel to the Eastern Freeway. Want to hear more about what's happening across CPB Contractors? 🌟This week's #ThankYouThursday is allll about our CPB Contractors team, who recently completed all construction works on the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport Station Boxes and Tunnels (SBT) project.🌟💪 At peak production, when all four Tunnel Boring Machines were in the ground, the CPB Contractors and Ghella project team was made up of more than 3,300 people, with about 57% of those hailing from the local area. Together, our talented team delivered 5.5 km of southern tunnels and 4.3 km of northern tunnels, as well as 5 station boxes, two service facility shafts and one tunnelling support shaft with four artificial tunnels. Please join us in congratulating every member of the SBT project team for their contribution to the success of a project that will connect Sydney’s new airport to reliable, regular transport, and transform how locals and visitors to NSW commute. Did you know that CPB Contractors has been part of the Sydney Metro journey since the very beginning? Our CPB Contractors team has proudly helped deliver the largest combined packages of work along the Sydney Metro alignment, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the Western Sydney Airport alignment will transform travel for even more commuters in the future. Take an up-close look at the station art being installed at Cross River Rail’s Boggo Road station, which is #InDelivery by our CPB Contractors team.😍 This is 'Ataga Ulumu' (which means red clay/road) by Teho Ropeyarn. The piece highlights the similarities between the Brisbane River, which runs close to Boggo Road station, and the Jardine River from Teho’s Country in Cape York. The design speaks directly to the significance of water, land, and sky in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage. 🧡🧡 Want to hear more about what's happening across CPB Contractors? ☀️It’s all systems go as our team progresses TasWater’s Selfs Point Sewer Transformation Project in Hobart, Tasmania.☀️ CPB Contractors, alongside fellow CIMIC Group Limited UGL and with support from WSP in Australia, together with TasWater, as part of the TasWater Alliance, have commenced construction of a new 4.3 km pipeline between Macquarie Point, near Constitution Dock in Hobart, and Selfs Point. Once complete, it will transport raw materials to the upgraded Selfs Point Sewerage Treatment Plant. The plant will treat up to 25 megalitres of wastewater every day and will reduce nitrogen and phosphorus entering the Derwent River by 50 per cent.
