Thanks to everyone who helped make 2024 NAIDOC Week another wonderful celebration of Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander people and culture. Experiences at our Osborne Park head office included collaborative art with Indigenous artist in residence Sam Bobby, traditional menu items at our restaurant and café, plus an Indigenous arts and craft market supported by talented vendors. Our remote sites hosted flag raising and smoking ceremonies, with MinRes also proud to attend a Thalanyji Elders luncheon with the Shire of Ashburton and an immersive experience at Peedamulla campgrounds. We have a long standing and proud partnership with MTData, with their technology being implemented on MinRes road trains for well over a decade. With both MinRes and MTData leading technology advancements, MinRes is pleased to be among the first companies to commercially trial their new MTData 7000AI safety and compliance device. The device will provide feedback on driver fatigue and vehicle telematics across our national footprint. This includes real-time AI management of data on engine performance and live fuel burn, as well as safety features to alert the driver if signs of fatigue are detected. This will be integrated with other AI and technology platforms already operating within our fleet. The device will be trialled in 20 brand new MinRes Kenworth road trains operating in Western Australia and Queensland, with plans to roll the AI technology out across our fleet following the successful completion of trials.

This morning we kicked off NAIDOC Week with a ceremony at our head office, featuring a Welcome to Country by Danny Ford OAM, addresses from MinRes Managing Director Chris Ellison and Non-Executive Director Colleen Hayward AM, plus didgeridoo and traditional dance performances. This year’s theme - Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud - calls for reclaimed narratives, amplified voices and a commitment to justice and equality. We're hosting cultural activities and celebrations across MinRes locations all week, inviting our employees and communities to listen and learn, to nurture the stories, traditions and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
