Bede Noonan addressed a packed room of young professionals in Perth this week at the final event in our 2024 Emerging Leaders Breakfast series, sponsored by CPB Contractors.   We were particularly pleased to welcome a number of our 2024 and 2025 Fellows to the event including our new Future Leaders Committee representative for WA(李理)David, Li Li as well as Laura Donovan, Emma Shore, Monica Raju and John Perrott.   Sharing his insights both as a Roads Australia Board Director and CEO of ACCIONA AU & NZ, Bede reflected on how both the industry and his approach to leadership has evolved.   Acknowledging the need for greater innovation, efficiency and sustainability in the Australian infrastructure sector, he challenged attendees to be agents of change.   “For you as future leaders, the opportunity is to think not about the process, but about the outcome,” said Bede. “Be brave, be courageous, be open to change…at this stage in your career, embracing that and being the leaders of it is important.”   The full event gallery can be found here: https://lnkd.in/gPw8nj37   Keep an eye on our LinkedIn feed and RA Insider in coming weeks for more information about our 2025 Emerging Leaders Program.   Thank you to our sponsor CPB Contractors, who has helped make this very special event series possible, and to our speakers Bede Noonan, Justin Redelinghuys, Thilanka Silva and Elizabeth Kelleher-Cook.

"There are some incredible people in this industry... If you can be the one to get them all working in the right direction, that is leadership," said Mario Russo, Managing Director - Australia at McConnell Dowell. "It's about harnessing the people around you."   Speaking at yesterday's Emerging Leaders Breakfast in Adelaide sponsored by CPB Contractors, Mario shared highlights and lessons from his career in infrastructure. Acknowledging the significant opportunity for the sector's young professionals to support delivery of a record infrastructure pipeline in SA, Mario encouraged attendees to embrace challenges and put their hand up for projects that excite them.   Reflecting on his recent appointment as Managing Director of McConnell Dowell's Australian Business, Mario said: "It was a real privilege to take a national Managing Director position from Adelaide and I'm very proud of that and very proud of what we do in this state. I think we do some pretty spectacular things. We set a very high bar for the work we do in South Australia."   Thank you to our sponsor CPB Contractors and our speakers Mario Russo, Dallas Keane, Ly Galanos and Elizabeth Kelleher-Cook.   The full event gallery is now available here: https://lnkd.in/erwc3Sbs   Interested in learning more about our Emerging Leaders Program for 2025? The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games provide the perfect springboard for transport, mobility and infrastructure projects required across Queensland to happen before the Games, not because of the Games.      These legacy opportunities were a key focus of GVLDA CEO Emma Thomas’s address in her keynote presentation at the Roads Australia Industry Lunch at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre last week.      With our Elevate 2042 legacy strategy already released, and Transport and Mobility Strategy in the works, we all can look forward to more seamless, sustainable and accessible transport, and better-connected venues, ahead of the Games, during the Games, and for decades after.  Read Elevate 2042 here: https://lnkd.in/gKA_ekuR    #Transport #TransportAndMobility #Infrastructure #Legacy #Elevate2042 #GVLDA

Amid budget constraints and challenging market conditions, Roads Australia and our members are always grateful for the opportunity to hear directly from those who are managing the funding envelope.   At our recent leaders lunch sponsored by Arcadis in Melbourne, we were pleased to host Kate O'Sullivan, Deputy Secretary - Infrastructure Division, Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance.   Kate outlined some of the ways in which the government is navigating the difficult landscape.   Local content policy and innovative approaches to contracting were discussed, with a healthy exchange of ideas on ways to strengthen government and industry delivery partnerships going forward.   Thank you to Kate and our sponsor Arcadis for helping us to deliver an excellent event.   Are you interested in hosting or attending our next leaders lunch on this topic?
