We’ve published our annual data report, Key Work Health and Safety Statistics Australia 2024. It provides a snapshot of WHS in Australia through analysis of national data on work-related fatalities, injuries and diseases. What does this snapshot look like? ➡️ tragically, 200 workers died from traumatic injuries while working in 2023 ➡️ 95% of worker fatalities were male ➡️ Vehicle incidents continue to account for the largest proportion of worker fatalities (42%), followed by falls from a height – which has increased by 71% since 2022 ➡️ there were 139,000 serious workers’ compensation claims in 2022-23p ➡️ mental health conditions accounted for 10.5% or 14,600 claims in 2022-23p.
