  • 🌿 Reducing Carbon Starts with Smart Design   Did you know the building envelope accounts for 23% of a building's total embodied carbon intensity? Our new report, How Design Drives Embodied Carbon, uncovers actionable strategies to lower this impact and create more sustainable buildings.   📌 Key findings include: ✔️ Simplify building forms with low Vertical Floor Area Ratios (VFAR) and optimized Window-to-Wall Ratios (WWR). ✔️ Balance density to maximize efficiency without over- or under-densification. ✔️ Choose low-carbon materials like brick and precast concrete to align with sustainability goals.   This report offers a practical roadmap for those looking to tackle the challenges of embodied carbon while achieving high-quality, sustainable designs. It provides actionable insights on reducing envelope embodied carbon through strategic design, focusing on form optimization, window-to-wall ratio adjustments, and thoughtful material selection.   ✨ Special thanks to Jablonsky, Ast and Partners, RJC Engineers , Entuitive, Honeycomb, and Salas O'Brien for their invaluable contributions to this study.
