Mental health starts at the top Attitudes and actions of leadership can significantly influence the mental health environment within the organization. Managers who take the lead on destigmatizing mental health issues can transform their organizational culture. Beckers Turkey hosted a strategy session that focused on the mental health training for our managers. The day was filled with insightful sessions and engaging activities. The highlight of the day was a special session led by a master instructor of the Buteyko Breathing Method and Oxygen Advantage. Accompanied by the soothing sounds of nature, she conducted a breathing therapy session for all participants. She showcased how we can reduce stress in our lives through correct breathing techniques. She also emphasized the positive impact that effective breathing can have not only in our professional lives but also in our personal lives. Beckers' Commitment to Sustainability: A Net Zero Future We are thrilled to announce that Beckers has become the first coil coatings company to commit to net-zero emissions by 2050, aligning with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). We have already made significant progress by reducing our absolute CO2e emissions in our own operations (scope 1 and 2) by 51% between 2013 and 2023. But we know that true success requires collective action. More than 98% of our emissions result from our customers and suppliers (scope 3), which is why we must collaborate with our entire value chain. Beckers France celebrated earlier in June the successful conclusion of a four-year refurbishment and extension project at the world-wide largest Beckers site, located in Montbrison, France. This ambitious, multi-phase construction project was designed to improve working conditions and ensure compliance with the most stringent environmental and safety standards. The result is a modern, spacious, bright and secure working environment that empowers operational efficiency and supports our sustainable innovation program. As well as functional and aesthetic improvements, the buildings now demonstrate high levels of energy efficiency. We say that using precoated steel for production of home appliances is more sustainable solution than post-painting, but why is it actually? It is due to coil coating process itself, which is the most efficient way of coating steel. It uses less intensive pre-treatment, and less paint and energy per square meter of painted material. Consequently, pre-painted steel has a lower environmental impact than post-painted steel in every aspect. The LCA study offered by ECCA (European Coil Coating Association) gives good insight into it. Beckers US team marked this year’s World Environment Day at the start of June by taking positive action in and around our Chicago and Fontana sites. In Chicago, gardening was the order of the day, where the team planted flowers to promote pollination for bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. As well as supporting biodiversity, outdoor collaborative activities like gardening are strongly associated with positive mental health and team spirit. Meanwhile, in Fontana, Beckers colleagues went out collecting trash to help instil pride in the neighborhood. Such grassroots actions are vital – not just for local wildlife but for cultivating an environment that supports mental and physical wellbeing. It’s another example of how at Beckers we try to work together to raise the standard of care for our world. World Environment Day is the biggest international day for the environment, celebrated by millions of people across the world. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and held annually since 1973, it has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental outreach. #BeckersUS #Environmentday #beckersgroup

Our suppliers at Beckers are instrumental in driving sustainable innovation and helping raise the standard of care for our world.   Beckers Supplier Award showcases the partners leading the pack.    Awarded to a supplier that has made significant progress based on internationally recognized sustainability criteria, it’s a way to acknowledge the contributions of our partners – and the positive impact their efforts are having further down the line.    This year’s winner is NOVARESINE SRL in Italy.    A leading supplier of Saturated Polyester Resins, Novaresine’s proactive approach and longstanding commitment to responsible business and environmental stewardship has propelled several joint sustainability projects.    Thomas Lüder, Global Director Sustainability Partnerships at Beckers Group, commented: “It has been a great experience over the years to see Novaresine’s constant drive to improve the company’s sustainability approach step by step beyond a level that even seemed possible at the beginning.
