𝟭.𝟳𝟯𝟰 - 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 Eckart Stein 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗙 𝗜𝗻𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. That's equivalent to 247.71 weeks, or 56.94 months, or 4.74 years since he took up this position on January 1st, 2020. ⏱💯 🛬 Well, time flies… especially when the days that passed were filled with the passion, drive, and commitment to excellence that Eckart brought to his job every single day. And so, we're feeling a mix of emotions as we bid farewell to our department head. Not only did he navigate our team gracefully through the rollercoaster ride of the pandemic 🎢 , he also continued to build a collaboration powerhouse, where feedback and personal growth thrive. Ever heard of the BASF Smart Practice Platform? It’s a hub for sharing innovative practices and fostering #continuousimprovement. Operated by our colleagues in Operational Excellence Consulting, this platform enables #BASF colleagues worldwide to identify optimization opportunities and implement measures to increase #efficiency. With over 2800 real-world examples from various areas of operations, including #production, #analytics, #quality, #R&D, and site #logistics, the platform serves as a source of inspiration and knowledge exchange. All these examples, contributed by passionate BASF colleagues, have led to improved process reliability, increased capacity, enhanced #quality, and greater employee efficiency. In the past six months alone, the platform has achieved an estimated improvement potential of close to €10 million - with very limited investment. This can be attributed to the application of various #LEAN methods, such as technical process observation, process mapping, Six Sigma, 5S, visual management, and digitalization. Petra Neumann, PhD, MBA, senior project manager in the practice “Transformation Enablement”, says: “Thanks to the Smart Practice Platform, BASF is able to continually eliminate waste and transform its operations. We'll continue using this tool to drive innovation and excellence across our global sites.”
