French pastries without #eggs, c'est fantastique! 🤩 I got the chance to taste the delicious products from ALGAMA Foods at the Coller Start-up Competition 2024 organised by CPT Capital, the Alternative Proteins Association, The Good Food Institute and Accenture 💡 ALGAMA Foods focuses on creating products based on #algae proteins, which are an excellent alternative to #animal #proteins. To replace 100g of eggs, you simply need 20g of algae! 🐣 This is a promising solution to alleviate animal suffering and to reduce the #climate impact of our #FoodSystems, as animal #agriculture emits more carbon emissions than the transport sector. Tasting has been a game-changer for us. It has assisted us in transitioning from simply providing a unique microalgae-based ingredient to creating tangible experiences for our clients. Participating in Future Food-Tech was another excellent opportunity for us. We began with a morning buffet featuring our Chocolate Chip Brioche, made with our vegan brioche mix. The afternoon break highlighted our industrially-made Vegan Pecan Pie. On the second day, we partnered with Impossible Foods to offer a Chicago Style hotdog during lunch. Tamalga has been used in a variety of applications, from artisanal recipes to industrial processes, effectively proving its capability as an egg substitute. It not only replicates the look of traditional products, but also their texture, all the while ensuring a pleasing taste, devoid of any unpleasant flavors.
