We are delighted to have secured resource consent for a Papakāinga housing development at 75 Huxley Road, Outer Kaiti on behalf of Te Runanganui o Ngati Porou & Lisa Whakataka in partnership with ICONIQ Group Todd Scrafton. The approved development achieves a significant milestone for Te Runanganui o Ngati Porou by enabling them to support their whanau on their whenua through providing long-term housing options centred around a shared community space within close proximity to existing support services on the site. A range of housing types and typologies are provided across the 48-dwelling scheme, including Kaumatua housing, two-storey duplexes and three-storey walk-up apartments to cater for a broad range of needs and ages. The shared community space at the centre of the proposal, in addition to extensive landscaping, and separated pedestrian paths, will further foster a vibrant and thriving residential community. We also want to thank the consultant team from Pacific Environments Flowpath Engineering Consultants, SJP Landscape Architect, LDE ∙ Engineering Consultants, Traffic Planning Consultants Ltd, Initia, and SCOPE Investigations for their work on this project. The proposal will provide a significant boost to Gisborne’s housing supply and deliver much needed homes for Te Runanganui o Ngati Porou now and into the future. We look forward to seeing this residential community come to life and the positive impact it will bring.
Working with Marutūāhu and Fletcher Living in partnership with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, we are delighted to advise that we have recently obtained resource consent to construct 96 new high quality residential dwellings, with associated earthworks and landscaping, serviced by a new public road and private access lots in Kaipātiki Road in Glenfield. A strong community focus has been the driving force for this project, with improvements to stormwater management of both the site and the surrounding area being a key measure of success. We are delighted to share that the Environmental Protection Agency recently granted resource consent under the COVID-19 Fast Track Consenting Act for Stage 1 of the Ngongotahā Housing Development providing for 202 residential dwellings, a complex of artificial wetlands, ecological improvements to Te Toto Stream, neighbourhood park and new shared path connections to Ngongotahā Village. The project will provide a significant contribution to the housing shortage in the Rotorua Lakes District. We are proud to have provided the planning services to secure this important project for Watchman Capital Residential. We want to thank the project team from McKenzie & Co. The decision on Plan Change 79 - Amendments to the Transport Provisions is out. This Plan Change now has legal effect, but there is a weighting exercise pending the appeal period. All current resource consent applications that have been lodged, and any new applications, will need to take the Plan Change into account. Key changes that have been approved by the Panel include: - New lighting requirements for pedestrian safety, including a special information requirement; - New Trip (reduced) generation triggers; - New requirements for accessible car parking; - Requirements to enable the supply of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment; - Increased separated pedestrian access requirements to residential developments (up to 1.8 metres in width depending on the number of units); - Increased requirements for secure long–stay bicycle parking; https://lnkd.in/gCrZUgVP Appeals close on 20 September 2024.
We are delighted to share that Connor Ngan has accepted our offer to come on board as a full time planner when he finishes his studies this year. It will be great to have him as a member of the team in a permanent capacity! Connor is looking to do a bit of travelling after completing university so in practice he may not start in the new role until early in the new year, but it’s good to have this all official nice and early.
