There is a lot of exciting activity building in the Philippine Data Center Industry! The irony, however, is that many professionals from the infrastructure and real estate industry have never even been to a data center facility. Our team at NARRA1 has been very busy hosting tours for people to get a first hand experience of a data center and how it operates. The largest tour we have hosted so far was for ULI Philippines where we used the Urban Land Institute Study Tour format: people who were directly involved in the design and construction of the project were personally present to provide their insight, learnings, and context for the tour. I shared during the study tour that one of the key aspirations we had with our partner Digital Edge DC for NARRA1 was to set the bar for sustainability and environmental performance at a high level so that we can push the young Philippine Data Center industry to focus on the key areas of energy and water efficiency. Data Centers are notorious for being large users of energy and water and we have a real opportunity to design, build, and operate a generation of data centers in our country that don’t overly burden our energy and water resources. #datacenter #sustainability #greenbuilding #energyefficiency #ESG

Ni-repost ito ni ULI Philippines
Co-Managing Director at NEO | Logistics Real Estate Development | Data Centers | F&B Investment Liquid Venture
Amazing talk on the life of IM Pei by ULI Philippines and Asia society. My key take away was how architecture is both Art and Marketing in how they are a language for communicating the spirit of a community in terms of the use of space and physical structures. We developers can sometimes get to caught up in function or profit we forget the importance of these.
