As a part of ULI Hong Kong's #NEXT Committee, Chris Lam and I recently had the opportunity to present to The Chinese University of Hong Kong's incoming 2024/2025 MSc Real Estate cohort our group's objectives around community engagement, mentorship, and workshops with higher education. It was nice reminder to myself on the importance of experience sharing with the future cohort of real estate leaders and giving a view that real estate is an extremely broad field with many versions of "what success looks like". I am looking forward to the upcoming ULI NEXT Mentorship Events and furthering our engagement with CUHK.   Thanks for the opportunity, Gentiana Cheung, Dr. Jenny Tian, and Michelle Pun! We had a great turn out last week for our #Futureproofing Your Career event with the ULI Hong Kong #WomensLeadershipInitiative and #YoungLeadersGroup. It was amazing to hear from Ada Fung Fay Li and Raymond Kwok on their super impressive career journeys and their advice to #CRE rising stars. We followed the panel discussion with a speed networking session that gave the chance for more intimate conversations. Key takeaways for me: be your authentic self, take (educated) risks, and above all ask for help, search out mentors and sponsors and also pay it forward 🔄 Want to be a part of this amazing #ULI community and take advantage of all the thought leadership opportunities that we provide? Join our #HongKong Conference on October 23! It’s going to be a day of inspiration and thought provoking discussions. https://lnkd.in/gpRMZ_Pb CC: Susheela Rivers Jayson Williams, MBA Eli Konvitz Ariel Shtarkman

𝐔𝐋𝐈 𝐱 𝐇𝐊𝐔: 𝐑𝐞-𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 #3: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 The world is rapidly changing, yet building codes are slow in adapting. This series of workshops is inspired by a Fall 2022 Studio that ULI and HKU held which aimed to challenge the current restrictions imposed by the building codes. We investigated the adapability and resilience of high rise buildings and the limitations imposed by regulations.   Hong Kong has been challenged by SARS and COVID-19, two major pandemics in the last 20 years. The high density of our city has often been counterproductive in terms of a healthy environment. To improve the resilience of buildings, there is a need for architecture to redefine health and safety measures.    We will address key questions such as: What is a healthy building? What are the innovative ideas on health and safety in buildings? How could building regulations in Hong Kong be adjusted to allow for healthier buildings? How can healthy buildings be more attainable and sustainable?
