With a focus on #sustainability, #resilience, and #innovation, this vision sets clear priorities: ✅ 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀: Ensuring financial sustainability and empowering young generations in rural areas. ✅ 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Reducing pesticides, promoting biodiversity, and rewarding eco-friendly farming practices. ✅ 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Advancing research and technology to improve efficiency and food traceability. ✅ 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Preparing for future challenges like climate change and global crises.   But what does this mean for #Food4CE? 🎯  The #Food4CEProject is bringing this vision to life by strengthening the innovation capacity of #AlternativeFoodNetworks in Central Europe! 📢 How can #DigitalTools strengthen #AlternativeFoodNetworks? 🌱🌾 📆 On March 11, Localog - Piattaforma per la Logistica Contadina, the Italian #InnovationHub of the #Food4CEProject, hosted its third #CapacityBuildingEvent, focusing on #digitalization in #AFNs. 🎙️ The session featured Francisco Martinez Frutos from Open Food Network (OFN), who presented how their open-source e-Commerce platform helps #SmallFarmers and #FoodHubs connect, sell directly to consumers and businesses, and create collaborative food networks. 📢 #InnovativeTools for #FruitGrowers: highlights from the meeting with the Polish #InnovationHub of #Food4CE 🍏🌱 On February 27, 2025, R-SGD Przybroda hosted a meeting of the Fruit Growers' Society of the Wielkopolska Horticultural Association in Poznań, Poland 🇵🇱, where participants had the opportunity to learn about modern solutions supporting the development of #horticulture. 🎯 One of the topics of the meeting was the promotion of innovative tools within #AlternativeFoodNetworks, which are being developed in the European #Food4CEProject. A presentation on this topic was given by Alina Nowotarska and Benedykt Peplinski from the Poznań University of Life Sciences. They discussed the opportunities offered by the Polish Innovation Hub, as well as the online platforms developed within the Food4CE project to support the activities of the Innovation Hubs: the #KnowledgeTransferPlatform and the #MatchmakingPlatform. 🌾👩🏻🌾 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲#LocalFoodNetworks 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿, 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲? 💡 Over the past weeks, the Localog - Piattaforma per la Logistica Contadina #InnovationHub hosted two inspiring 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 dedicated to overcoming logistical challenges in #AlternativeFoodNetworks. 🎯 The first meeting, with Bianca Calvaresi, a researcher from ART-ER and member of the Technical Secretariat of the Regional Forum for Solidarity Economy, explored 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀❜ 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮-𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗮 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗳𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 through direct producer-consumer relationships and innovative distribution models. 🎯 The second, featuring 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗶, President of the Regional Forum for Solidarity Economy of Emilia-Romagna, showcased the "𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘃𝗮𝗻" 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, an inspiring example of cooperative logistics reducing environmental and economic costs while fostering community ties. ✅ Both events highlighted not just 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 like geographic dispersion and coordination complexities, but also 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 and promising 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 paving the way for resilient short supply chains. 🔍 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲? This new Innovation Hub, a key outcome of the international Food4CE project, is set to promote the development and #sustainability of Alternative Food Networks (#AFNs) in #Hungary. 🤝 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝𝟒𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐮𝐛 aims to serve as a collaborative space for diverse stakeholders, including food producers, logistics operators, research institutes, public authorities, and professional associations. It will promote short supply chains, encourage digitalization, and facilitate knowledge-sharing to address the challenges of sustainable food production and distribution. 🥬 The 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 brought together international experts to discuss the future of food and #healthsciences. 📍 At the event, the inaugural meeting of the Food4Health Advisory Board was held, which will oversee the hub’s activities. It’s rooted in the country’s #agricultural tradition and has gained importance since the 1970s. Today, one Austrian farmer can feed about 100 people, compared to just 61 in 2000.
