On June 22, South Cerney Store Manager, Emily Gray and Marketing Executive, Amy Fry joined one of Every Body Outdoors' regional walks to further understand the challenges plus-sized people face in the outdoors.   The group enjoyed a walk up Cleeve Hill, near Cheltenham, where the views stretch for miles.   Prior to the walk, Every Body Outdoors held a 'kit pool' event, where plus-sized members could try on a range of kit and provide feedback on the fit and feel of items.

By making small changes in our daily lives, we can all contribute to a cleaner, greener planet. Here are some tips to help you go plastic-free: Use reusable bags: Bring your own bags when shopping to reduce plastic bag usage Say no to single-use plastics: Avoid disposable straws, cutlery, and cups. Opt for reusable alternatives instead Bring your own bottle: Carry a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated without the plastic waste Choose plastic-free packaging: Look for products with minimal or eco-friendly packaging when shopping Support sustainable brands: Purchase from companies committed to reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainability.

June is #PrideMonth. The annual event is a celebration of acceptance and inclusivity, which are two concepts we embrace at Cotswold Outdoor. To celebrate we spoke with colleagues about their personal experiences and ways we as a business can improve. Store Manager, Louise Smith said: “I've always felt comfortable in who I am at work, and the people I report to have always been fantastic.  “I want to make sure anyone working with me feels comfortable to be who they are, and sometimes I'm sure I've got it wrong over the years, but visibility is really important within a company.”

This week is #WellbeingWeek. At Cotswold Outdoor, we champion the belief that everyone is happier outside.   This is why we are passionate about providing the perfect kit to allow people to make the most of their adventures. From the endorphins exercising releases to the feel-good factor being in nature creates, getting out and moving your body for as little as 10 minutes can have a profound impact.

We believe that everyone’s happier outside. According to The People and Nature survey, 82% of adults in England said being in nature made them very happy and 92% agreed spending time outdoors was good for their mental health. We’re proud to partner with organisations like the National Trust who protect and preserve areas of natural beauty and ensure they are accessible for all. Today is #WorldRefillDay, an initiative which aims to tackle plastic pollution, accelerate the transition away from single-use plastic and encourage people to live with less waste. Here are some of the ways we champion this every day: - Water stations for colleague use: Our colleagues have access to AquaAid water coolers which both encourage the refilling of reusable bottles and generate funds for charity - Refill app: We support City to Sea's Refill campaign, the world's first app dedicated to helping people locate places to refill their reusable water bottles for free. Since we're part of the Refill network, refill stations can be found in all of our stores - Community engagement: We partner with environmental organisations and charities to support conservation efforts and remove waste from the outdoors - Recycled packaging: Where possible, we use recycled packaging to send orders out to customers and also remove packaging that cannot be recycled at home to take care of recycling it ourselves.
