Our skilled designer David's commitment to excellence earned us the opportunity to design not just the kitchen and utility room, but three stunning bathrooms as well. Talking openly and honestly can be the first step towards better mental health for everyone. It can reduce stigma and help people feel comfortable enough to seek help when they need it. Time to Talk Day is run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness in England, in partnership with Co-op. The campaign runs UK wide, with SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health) in Scotland, Inspire in Northern Ireland and Time to Change Wales. The day is all about creating supportive communities by having conversations with family, friends, or colleagues about mental health. We all have mental health and by talking about it we can support ourselves and others. Their aim is to support communities up and down the country to help them get comfortable talking about mental health. Time to Talk Day 2024 revealed that nearly two thirds of the UK public put on a brave face to avoid talking about their mental health. And nearly half of us are less likely to open up as we don't want to worry others in already difficult times. #timetotalk #mentalhealth #wellbeing #yourmindmatters #support

At LBS, we embrace every opportunity to enhance our colleagues' learning and development. Over the past year, nearly 7% of our workforce, (29 individuals), have actively engaged in gaining new skills through a wide range of apprenticeship courses. These courses cover a broad spectrum of subjects and reflect our commitment to continuous improvement across our teams. Currently, our learners are enrolled in various programs, including Leadership & Management Levels 3 & 4, Diploma in Business Administration Level 3 & 4, LGV Driver Apprenticeship, Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 2, and social media for Business Level 3 to name a few. By offering such a wide range of educational opportunities, LBS ensure that our colleagues get every opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers. Over 30 years ago, I embarked on a journey in the children’s charity sector, driven by a passion for making a difference in young lives. Today, as the CEO of a Faith in Families my encounter with Henry Engelhardt at Swansea Bay Business Club and his book, "Be a Better Boss," which I have just finished, has reignited my vision for fun—a vision that first drew me to this sector. Henry's advice on building strong teams is invaluable. Trust, respect, & open communication. This empowers our team to contribute their best efforts & allows our charity partners & funders to believe in us. We are a fabulous team of qualified, experienced, & skilled practitioners, outreach workers, playworkers, volunteers, fundraising champions, & incredible trustees. We are all part of the puzzle that Henry talks about. This was evident on Friday when trustees, team members, fundraising champions, & charity partners came together to celebrate some of the best businesses at The Swansea Bay Business Awards & fundraise for our local children’s charity. It could also mean helping a mum take her child to a hospital appointment across the city without having to go without food for the bus fare.
