Excited to share that Morris+Company's design of One Wood Crescent - a landmark #office building that embodies #efficiency, #flexibility, and a strong sense of place in London's White City Innovation District - has been shortlisted for the Architects’ Journal AJ Architecture Award #Workplace category. One Wood Crescents' timeless identity creates a welcoming architecture developed specifically to accommodate a variety of occupiers. Key features include; flexible office spaces with outdoor connections situated upon every floor, through single and double height loggias and terraces. As well as a sweeping entrance colonnade announcing the buildings strong architectural presence in relation to White City's iconic Television Centre and Hammersmith Park. The project speaks directly to #innovativedesign and material honesty. Through the use of prefabrication and Design for Manufacture and Assembly (#DfMA), the design team were able to deliver the building at speed and without compromising upon quality. The #façade, made from precast panels with integrated glazing, offers a unique blend of texture and lightness, creating a comfortable and adaptable interior space. Alberto Sols Carlero, Morris+Company’s lead Architect on the project, reflects on the journey: “Being shortlisted for this project highlights the innovation in our design approach—balancing speed of delivery with the highest quality materials and techniques. One Wood Crescent stands as a testament to what’s possible when you combine ambition with smart construction methods and material honesty. We are extremely proud to see this building come to life and serve as a strong anchor within its urban context." Progress update on the brick built MiniCO2 Estorey TEGL in Fredericia. This short video illustrates the installation of brick beams and brick blocks which make up the floor structure. Ensuring the lowest possible CO2 footprint, only the intermediate cross reinforcement is cast with concrete. It is possible to visit the construction site k. 9 October at a business event. A beautiful insight into the success of King’s Cross masterplan by Allies and Morrison and Porphyrios Associates for Argent LLP Related Argent, shorltisted for the RIBA #StirlingPrize #2024 A place of discovery with pockets of energy, of complex shapes and patterns in the urban realm creating a truly mixed use piece of city to work, rest and play. A place which has grown out of respect of the past, and which turns its back on gimmickry. We are proud to have played our own small part in this project with our RIBA Award winning PINK TINTED R7, mixed use workplace which houses, amongst others an Everyman cinema. Morris+Company are delighted that its #housing scheme for British Land, #CanadaWater K1 has been shortlisted in the Architects’ Journal AJ Architecture Awards #Housing category. K1 is a 6-storey building featuring 79 #affordable homes that includes 60 #socialrent and 19 #sharedownership. Designed around a communal courtyard, the building offers ‘inclusive, community-focused living’ with stunning views across Russia Dock Woodland. The first permanent building to be completed as part of the Canada Water #masterplan, K1 offers contextually sensitive tenure-blind, high-quality dual/triple-aspect homes, with an abundance of natural light, and spacious balconies. The U-shaped residence fosters a sense of community with shared outdoor spaces and generous deck access that encourages resident interaction. #Sustainability sits at the very heart of Canada Water K1. From its energy-efficient residences and urban biodiversity to a ‘blue roof’ for rainwater management, this development is designed for both people and planet. We are exceptionally proud to have been part of an exemplar team that delivered this pivotal scheme prioritising long-term environmental stewardship, resilience and community well-being.
