We recently hosted the ‘Creating and Measuring Jobs in the Green Economy’ deep dive - a fascinating discussion on the challenges and opportunities in defining, measuring, and maximising green job creation. Great to see the Pacific Community-SPC formally kick start the ‘Clean Energy Access for Remote Pacific Island Countries’ (CLEARPICs) project during the Pacific Regional Energy Meeting Series happening in Nadi this week. CLEARPICs is being funded by UK aid from the UK government via the Transforming Energy Access platform. The project has the overarching regional aspiration of supporting and assisting Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICTs) in their respective energy transitions. Three PICTs with the poorest electrification rates – PNG, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu – are the primary focus for the tailored activities which include the piloting of different models for off-grid energy and mini-grid dissemination. With climate-related weather events on the rise, BPP-Technical | Cables | Renewables, Future Value Global, and Climate Foundation are on a mission to strengthen the climate resilience of medical provisioning in the Philippines, by replacing fossil fuel power with a hybrid energy system.  The project will focus on the design of a solar-hydrogen production system in Central Visayas to provide fossil-free power and oxygen to a rural hospital facility. ☀️ With funding from the Zero Emission Generators (ZE-Gen) Technology Accelerator, the project will develop a solar-hydrogen storage system capable of short and long-term energy storage to deliver reliable, uninterrupted electricity supply, along with clean water and oxygen for the Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital in the Central Visayas. 🏥 Find out more about the ZE-Gen Technology Accelerator and the funded projects here 👇: https://lnkd.in/e2jK9b5D   Ayrton Fund Transforming Energy Access IKEA Foundation The Carbon Trust Innovate UK
