    Hot Job 🔥 HIRING: Widening Participation Lead £38,223 - £43,421 per annum (pay award pending) An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly formed post of Widening Participation Lead, which will be part of the growing Organisational Development (OD) team and manage a small team of resourcing specialists. You will play a leading role in the continuous improvement of the resources team, ensuring that technology is utilised effectively, and new ways of working are used for the benefit of the organisation. Supporting the ODBP (WP) will play an important part in delivering the Councils’ OD Strategy and co-ordination of associated initiatives / deliverables and in collaboration with other HR colleagues supporting the delivery of the Workforce Strategy and other key HR/EDI strategies. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate people management skills; coaching leadership style and behaviours aligned to Walsall Council values. You will need to be an excellent communicator, both orally and in writing, including presentation skills. We want someone who has the ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders to identify widening participation opportunities and promote these opportunities to the wider community. We are looking for someone that can plan and co-ordinate attendance at key events across the county to maximise recruitment and widen participation. Reporting to the Payroll and Pensions Manager, you will be responsible for the completion of associated pension returns and reporting in a timely and accurate manner. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge and experience of working in a public sector pensions environment within a payroll and pensions team and be qualified to Institute of Payroll and Pensions Management (IPPM) e.g. Advanced Practitioner Certificate in Pensions qualification or an equivalent relevant qualification at Level 4. We deliver insight to operational and strategic colleagues – working with them to understand what they need to know, what questions they have and providing the answers to help them make good decisions. This role is fixed term for 2- years, during which time you will join a cohort of 8 apprentices to undertake the (Masters degree) Level 7 Health & Care Intelligence Specialist delivered by JGA Group. During your apprenticeship you will complete intensive, modular learning which is delivered remotely. You will then be supported to apply your learning in the workplace with work-based projects across the Business Insights and Public Health teams. You will use utilise innovative analytics, complex information systems and varied data sets to ensure an intelligence-led approach to improving Public Health and reducing health inequalities. Your work will extremely varied – ranging from advanced analytics, research and evaluation projects and the development of reporting and monitoring products. This keeps it exciting and means there will always be plenty of opportunities to develop and broaden your knowledge and skills across the breadth of public health and care services.
