Richard joined the Group in February 2021, bringing over 30 years of experience to Watkin Jones.   Richard’s extensive experience and leadership have been significant in advancing Watkin Jones’ delivery function our projects and contributing to the Company’s growth in the residential development sector.    Alex Pease, Chief Executive Officer at Watkin Jones commented: "I would like to extend my thanks to Richard for his contribution and support to the business. During his tenure, Richard and his team has delivered some outstanding schemes and his efforts in restructuring Delivery and driving our Delivering Excellence programme have been invaluable. "Following Richard’s retirement, we have taken the opportunity to split his role. We have promoted and appointed to the executive team Gwyn Pritchard and Michael Bunyan to head up Construction and Project Services respectively." We have added to the executive team in the year with the appointment of Simon Jones as Chief Financial Officer and Adam McGhin as Chief Legal Officer & Company Secretary. Gwyn’s contributions have been significant across the BTR, PBSA, and the Homes divisions of the Group. Michael joined Watkin Jones in 2022 with 20 years of experience to head up development, project and cost management. When the Dings Community Centre in Bristol reached out for help to replace their lighting, our Gas Lane team who are developing the 260 bed PBSA scheme around the corner, stepped up. Collaborating with Kempowell Electrical Services Ltd, we replaced outdated lights with energy-efficient LEDs, improved safety with new fire escape lighting, and reduced running costs for the centre—helping them reinvest in vital community services. For James Howells, our Trainee Site Manager at Gas Lane, this project was personal. Growing up nearby, he knew just how important the centre is to the community. Now, we’re looking at further improvements, from electrical testing to a fresh repaint. This isn’t just about buildings—it’s about Watkin Jones and our teams being a good neighbour. Alex Pease, Chief Executive Officer, said: "The Group produced a resilient operational performance during FY24, in what remains a difficult investment market. The slow pace of interest rate cuts and timing of the general election meant that, whilst investor sentiment remained positive, transactional activity has not improved as quickly as expected. We responded by focusing on the factors within our control: successfully delivering our in-build projects and carefully managing our costs. We have also continued to broaden our revenue base, opening up new sources of income through our Refresh and development partnership initiatives.   "While the investment market has continued to be challenging, the sectors in which we operate remain attractive. PBSA is still undersupplied and BTR offers a key solution to the UK's housing shortage, helping to accelerate the delivery of new homes and fostering communities.
