  • Grain LNG initiates cardiovascular health programme with Medway Public Health We were pleased to host the first session of a new cardiovascular programme at Grain LNG, in partnership with Medway Public Health. This initiative is part of a national pilot focusing on improving awareness and prevention of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) in the workplace. Yesterday, Dr. David Whiting, Interim Director of Medway Public Health, and Georgina Crossman visited to observe the health checks carried out by Dale Jobson and Justine O'Neill from the Medway Public Health team. Launching in mid-October with Medway Healthy Workplaces, the Heart MOT service aims to address factors that contribute to CVD, which is a major cause of death and disability in the UK. This service is a proactive approach to managing health risks associated with cardiovascular conditions. This pilot will run until March 2025 and will test its effectiveness in boosting public health, with the hope of becoming a permanent feature of Medway's health offerings. We are proud to be selected as the pilot site for this vital project, reflecting our commitment to the health and wellbeing of our team and the wider community. Featured in the image are Stuart Clack, Richard Crabtree from Grain LNG, alongside Dr. David Whiting, Georgina Crossman, and Dale Jobson from Medway Public Health. #GrainLNG #PublicHealth #CVDPrevention #MedwayPublicHealth #WorkplaceWellness #HeartHealth #MedwayHealthyWorkplaces

We have today released our Gas Winter Outlook, which presents our view of gas supply and demand this winter. Key takeaways from this year's report are: ✅ We have sufficient supply capability to meet peak demand 📈 Demand within Great Britain is anticipated to be broadly the same as last winter – with small increases in residential demand 📉 Total demand on our National Transmission System (NTS) is forecasted to reduce, as we expect reduced levels of export to continental Europe We know how essential security of supply is for the winter, and the Outlook shows how gas is continuing to play a critical role in complementing renewables in powering Great Britain. With a range of diverse and flexible gas supplies from the UK Continental Shelf, Norway, liquefied natural gas, interconnectors, and gas storage across Great Britain, we are confident that we can continue to provide a variety of supply options to keep the lights on, industries fuelled, and homes warm this winter. • Exciting News from Grain LNG! We are pleased to share that our asset technical team, in collaboration with the terminal maintenance team, has developed an innovative maintenance regime using cutting-edge technology. By utilising drone surveys and precision asset intelligence software, we have revolutionised the way we inspect and monitor our built assets. This approach captures thousands of data points, creating a 3D model of our 600+ acre site.  The benefits have been tremendous! Not only have we saved valuable time and resources by reducing the need for intrusive inspections, such as scaffolding and complex lifting plans, but we have also gained 100% coverage of asset conditions with up to 1mm of detail.  With a regular record of the site in a digital format, we can now analyse relative deterioration rates over time, enabling accurate forecasting, risk protection and cost control. This advancement in our maintenance regime complements the work of our maintenance team, helping us deliver efficient and targeted interventions.  At Grain LNG, we are committed to continuous improvement, and this exciting development is a testament to that commitment. #GrainLNG #Innovation #AssetManagement #TechnologyInAction #SustainableOperations

  • Grain LNG leadership engages at ETMM in Croatia Chris Shoulders, Mark Mckenzie, and Ed Carter from our Leadership Team recently attended the European Terminal Managers Meetings (ETMM) hosted by LNG Croatia. This annual gathering is important for industry leaders to exchange insights and encourage collaboration. The event provided a day of presentations focused on safety, technology, and operational strategies, highlighting the latest trends and challenges facing our industry. • Today is World Mental Health Day!  At Grain LNG, we're committed to supporting the mental well-being of our employees, throughout the year. Here's a look back at some of our Journey: Our journey really began in 2014 with our pledge of time to change. Justin Bateman  from Gravesend Mind visited us to discuss strategies for mental health awareness. We introduced Mental Health First Aid training, equipping our team to offer better support to each other. We explored workplace mental health through interactive sessions with Enact, who use drama to highlight important issues. Another expert from Mind shared their knowledge on fostering mental well-being. We heard from Steve Cradock, who discussed his battle with PTSD, and Steve Wolfe, who shared how surviving a  heart attack transformed his approach to mental health. Helen Lawson from Wellbeing Training Solutions encouraged us to focus on the present, much like our canine friends, and Jack Green, a former GB Olympian, opened up about the mental pressures of elite sports. With 1 in 4 people experiencing mental health challenges each year in England, it's crucial we continue to support each other and challenge the stigma associated with mental health. #GrainLNG #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAwareness #SupportEachOther

  • A proud moment for the team at Grain LNG as our latest accreditation, a response to a call for the gas industry to find and eliminate methane emissions, has led to a world first. The goal of MiQ - Methane Intelligence initiative is to eliminate avoidable methane emissions from the natural gas supply chain as we transition to a world powered by cleaner energy, and Grain LNG is proud to be the first LNG site in the world to receive such certification. Grain LNG is not only the largest terminal in Europe, but a world class facility, reflected in our diversity of customers, operational excellence and now methane management. We hope to see a new gas chain with certificated and audited entities all providing full transparency on emissions. Thanks to all involved.

In a world first, our National Grid Grain LNG Limited terminal has been verified by MiQ - Methane Intelligence, the global leader in methane emissions measurement and certification. This places Grain LNG as the first LNG port in the world to receive MiQ’s accreditation, and the first facility outside of North America. Why is this important? This accreditation gives LNG buyers the ability to choose lower methane emission cargoes for the first time, reducing our overall impact on the environment.  In addition, US producers have until January 2027 to align with EU methane emissions rules so this accreditation is an industry must. 👏 Congratulations to Grain LNG and the team for achieving this well ahead of schedule, and setting the site up for a strong future right at the heart of Europe’s gas markets. • Preparing for the Kent Downs Ultra Challenge 24 members of our Grain LNG team are set to participate in the Kent Downs Ultra Challenge on the 12th of October, tackling either a 25km or a 50km route.  To get ready, eight determined members undertaking the 50km journey completed a 30km training walk recently.  The scenic route took them from Rochester to Aylesford and Snodland, before returning to Rochester. This essential practice helped our team prepare for the event next week.  It’s wonderful to see the team's enthusiasm as they train to support our chosen charity, MEGAN CIC Voluntary sector mental health organisation, which empowers and supports individuals with mental health challenges in Kent and Medway. Stay tuned for more updates, and if you’d like to support our cause, please visit our fundraising page here: https://lnkd.in/exdXJbJr #GrainLNG #UltraChallenge #MentalHealthSupport #CommunityEngagement

  • What is a HAZOP? A HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) is a method used to ensure that industrial processes or systems are safe and operate effectively. It involves a team of experts who carefully examine every part of the system to find any potential dangers or problems that could happen.  Why is a HAZOP important? HAZOP studies are important because they help keep people safe, mitigate risks, follow rules, and improve the workings of the system. Why do we conduct HAZOP studies? At Grain LNG, we conduct HAZOP studies because we take safety seriously and are always looking for ways to improve. It's a way for us to continuously improve our processes and systems. #SafetyFirst #OperationalExcellence #IndustrialSafety #HAZOP

  • Further recognition in Ergonomist Magazine It's rewarding to see the continued recognition of our team's hard work. After winning the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors 'Demonstrated Impact Award' in April, our efforts have been featured in the September 2024 issue of the Ergonomist magazine.
