Our updated Energy Assurance Campaign Plan provides a foundation for collaboration, cooperation and innovation in all energy-related fields across the organization. Energy assurance IS mission assurance. It plays a vital role in everything that we do, and managing the energy portfolio appropriately, in alignment with United States Air Force guidance, is key to mission successes. #USAF #readiness #energy #energyassurance #defense

The Voluntary Protection Program Star certification represents exemplary worksites across the United States, both in government and industry, with only 1 in 5,000 organizations or companies achieving this status. These sites maintain comprehensive, successful safety and health management systems, resulting in injury and illness rates below the national average. Workers at VPP Star-certified workplaces are self-sufficient in controlling hazards in their work areas, ensuring a safer and healthier environment. Way to go 309th team! #USAF #defense

The Propulsion Requirements System (PRS) determines the quantity of spare engine assets required to enable peace, training, and wartime mission objectives. This release provided an automated opportunity for users to pull critical data to support decision-making processes impacting 16,475 engine requirements worth $63.4 billion annually. #cloud #defense #USAF

Dream Team: In another historic first, students of the Space Test Course at the Air Force Test Pilot School worked with the Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles Directorate to successfully operate a satellite in space from Edwards Air Force Base. Previous classes have coordinated with commercial space providers to acquire satellite imagery to support multi-domain testing, dictating desired imagery and pass schedules, albeit without direct interaction with the satellite. May 20 marks the inaugural instance where U.S. Space Force STC Class 24A students issued commands to a satellite on orbit. #space #satellite #orbit #USAF

BREAKING XQ-67A first flight footage released. The Air Force Research Laboratory successfully flew the first of a second- generation of Autonomous Collaborative Platforms known as the XQ-67A demonstrator, built and flown in the Off-Board Sensing Station (OBSS) program Feb. 28, 2024. The AFRL Off-Board Sensing Station program is the validation of a design, build and test process that has resulted in the XQ-67A. It is the first of its kind to be built on a common chassis or genus — much like that of a motor vehicle frame — and with its first successful flight, the XQ-67A is proof that the genus approach works. This enables a faster and more cost-effective replication of the aircraft. This new approach also responds to the challenge of great power competition by speeding delivery of affordable, advanced capabilities to the warfighter. The XQ-67A is remotely piloted but is capable of autonomous flight. The first test flight of the XQ-67A, took place at the General Atomics Gray Butte Flight Operations Facility near Palmdale, California. 👩💼🧑💼Our future force: More than 200 college interns learned about Air & Space Force culture, mission, and future opportunities in civilian service at the 2024 Premier College Intern Program Symposium in Dayton, Ohio. The PCIP initiative began in 2017 as an Air Force-wide training and recruitment initiative managed by the Air Force Personnel Center. The program gives college students a ten-to-twelve-week paid experience in a civil service profession, where they work alongside mentors in career fields related to their college major. #USAF #intern #internship #STEM

The U.S. Air Force Security Forces Center is set to roll out new small unmanned aircraft systems technologies before the end of this year. Deployable warfighting technologies AFSFC is fielding in 2024 include the quad copter-Teal 2 sUAS and Red Air Cell training system. ➡ The Teal 2 sUAS compliments the larger Puma UAS system and gives security forces Defenders a lightweight, easy-to-operate vertical take-off and landing system they can carry and launch quickly to provide local area overwatch and situational awareness. The Teal 2 can travel about 5 kilometers from the operator, giving greater visibility on patrol in both daylight and low-light conditions. ➡The Red Air Cell provides Counter-sUAS system operators realistic training against threat UAS. #defense #USAF #sUAS

Helping to inspire the future force: The Air Force Research Laboratory recently donated an ultra-high vacuum scanning tunneling microscope, or UHV STM, to the Corbett Research Group through an Educational Partnership Agreement with Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Through agreements like these, AFRL is able to provide students additional access to state-of-the-art equipment with the hopes of educating and inspiring the future STEM workforce. The goal is to get students thinking about science and technology careers with the Air Force, and possibly with AFRL. #STEM #STEMed #AFRL #USAF
