🌍 Meet Jenny Zhang: From private consulting to global health impact Jenny Zhang transitioned from a consulting career at McKinsey & Company to join CHAI as a Regional Senior Associate for dengue in the Greater Mekong Sub-region. In our latest staff profile, she shares insights on her day-to-day at CHAI, her personal goals, and the motto she lives by. “Two big [skills that are crucial for succeeding at CHAI] are probably the ability to take ownership and handle ambiguity. Oftentimes, we are tackling major global health challenges that don’t have clear answers or a rinse-and-repeat approach.” Read her blog👉: https://ow.ly/hSue50Vjh2m #CHAIRecruiting #TeamCHAI #Dengue #LifeAtCHAI

✨87,000+ Women and Children Gain Lifesaving Health Services in Nigeria✨ In #Nigeria, for every 100,000 live births, 512 women lose their lives. Many of these deaths are preventable, however, high costs and inequitable access to quality health care remain major barriers for many women. Now, global health funding cuts pose a serious risk of worsening the crisis, making lifesaving care even less accessible for those who need it most. On this #InternationalWomensDay, we celebrate all women and the innovations that #AccelerateAction towards improving women’s health and wellbeing. The Ministry of Health-led, CHAI-supported, and Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada-funded “Expanding Health Insurance to Improve SRH Outcomes” Program, is one of such innovations #AcceleratingAction towards improving the health and well-being of vulnerable women and girls in Nigeria. Through this initiative, over 87,000 pregnant women and under-five children across six Nigerian States (Bayelsa, Ekiti, Kaduna, Katsina, Niger, and Ondo States) can now freely access essential maternal and child health services, empowering women and girls to live healthier lives. Thanks to this initiative, more pregnant women are receiving full coverage for antenatal care, safe delivery, and postnatal support. “I was in pain while pregnant and my husband was away and had no money for treatment. My neighbors told me about the free health care program, but I feared being turned away as I had no money. Upon getting to the facility, I was told to fill out an enrollment form and was treated at no cost. This program has lifted this burden off my family.” – Suliyat, pregnant woman, Oba-Ile PHC, Akure North LGA, Ondo State. With better access to antenatal care, skilled birth delivery, and postnatal support, more women are taking charge of their health. As Suliyat says:"Even after my baby was born, when he fell sick, I rushed him to the hospital, and he was treated for free. I don’t hesitate to visit the clinic now." Healthcare is a right, not a privilege .Every woman deserves quality health care without financial barriers. This #IWD2025, let’s break the barriers to healthcare for women everywhere. #InternationalWomensDay #HealthForAll #EmpowerHerHealth
