What an awesome group. Big thanks to the men in Teen Empowerment’s Vision for the Future program for bringing their joy and curiosity to the practice of connecting with others. Can’t wait to get out into the community with some of you soon! Shoutout to Thomas Koonce, Joseph Bebo and Che Pope for the powerful community they’ve created, and the mentoring they provide. ❤️ #storiesconnectus #reentry

About us
Everyday Boston is a nonprofit that connects neighbors across a divided city through the sharing of stories. We do this work in neighborhoods, schools, workplaces and prisons through a two-pronged model. First, we run workshops that strengthen the listening and communication skills Bostonians need to better interact with their neighbors. Then we provide opportunities- through story collecting projects and story share events- for residents to connect with people they might not otherwise know. Our vision is that Boston becomes the most connected city in America. Join us!

A beautiful day in the neighborhood (Roxbury) ❤️ Thank you Boston Unity Cup for celebrating the city’s diversity through a soccer tournament and street festival that had everyone smiling. Grateful to Che Pope (Bridge Project Fellow) and Dan Smith (an active Bridge Project member) for bringing their warmth and listening skills to another conversation station- and damaging their knees trying to jump rope 🤣 See you next Sunday at Open Streets JP!

At a time when we’ve forgotten how to talk and listen to each other, Everyday Boston is working to make Boston the most connected city in America. For far too long, stereotypes have spread like wildfire and done real damage to our city. They’ve crept into how we talk to strangers on the street, how we treat each other at work, how we see each other in the criminal justice system. They affect not just how we see other neighborhoods, but how we see our own. It’s a national challenge, and our way to tackle it is through the sharing of stories. Want to join us in this important work? Everyday Boston is seeking Board Members to help amplify our impact and make a difference in our community. Apply here to start a conversation.

Thank you Boston Red Sox for inviting us to table at Friday’s game with New York Yankees! We laid out 50 different story prompts and challenged fans to take one and start a conversation with a stranger sitting next to them in the park. We are very sorry to report: The Yankees fans were WAY more receptive to this challenge than the Sox fans. Let’s get it together, Boston!!! Your next opportunity to make a neighbor out of a stranger comes tomorrow night: we’re taking our conversation station to Maverick Landing Community Services (MLCS)’ awesome annual Juneteenth celebration (4-8 pm at Lombardi Park in East Boston). Then we’ll see you at Open Streets Roxbury on Saturday (10 am to 4 pm)! #storiesconnectus #everydayboston #connection #conversation #boston

Boston, here we come! We're organizing conversation stations across the city this summer, and we want YOU there. So swing by, say hi, and share a story or two with a neighbor you haven't met yet! It's good for the city AND for your mental health. First up, on June 18, we'll be at Maverick Landing Community Services (MLCS)' awesome annual Juneteenth celebration. And then a few days later, on June 22, we're setting up shop at Open Streets - Roxbury. Details on both events, plus the full list of where we'll be and when this summer on our website: https://lnkd.in/eUKveAFW #storiesconnectus #everydayboston

Grateful to For Black Girls Inc. for organizing this much-needed event, and for inviting Everyday Boston to be a part of it. We’ll be leading a story share that ends with a solutions brainstorm- all on how to uplift and better serve BIPOC communities in healthcare. A special shoutout to our friend and FBG Founder, the great Rochelle Levy-Christopher, for her vision, wisdom, and non-stop advocacy- on this issue, and so many others.
Join us at the Grove Hall Library for a day dedicated to empowering Black women and girls in the realm of health and well-being. This event features talks on mental health, reproductive health, self-advocacy, nutrition, and Black maternal health, along with educational and art workshops focusing on self-advocacy in healthcare and healthcare equity for Black women and girls.
