About us

Since 1985, Hospitality House of Charlotte has been the only resource of its kind in the region to provide affordable lodging to families and patients of all ages receiving medical treatment in Charlotte. Charlotte is incredibly fortunate to have world class healthcare systems. At Hospitality House of Charlotte our families have a loved one receiving treatment for cancer, a traumatic injury, are receiving a life-saving organ transplant or are facing other serious illnesses. We provide a place for families between healing and home. Our Overnight Lodging Program offers 20 guest rooms with a bath, a sun room, family room, double kitchen and pantry with food and snacks for our guests to enjoy. We also provide complimentary laundry facilities and supplies, free parking, and complimentary WiFi throughout the facility. All guests are referred to our programs through case managers, nurses, chaplains or other hospital personnel. There is a nominal fee of $50 per room, per night which is a portion of the actual cost to the organization. With a lack of affordable lodging in close proximity to the hospitals in Charlotte, the demand for our lodging programs is high. Each year thousands of guests come to our home in need of lodging and support from all over the globe, and we are honored to help. Hospitality House of Charlotte is a nonprofit organization and relies on financial support from individual donors, corporate support, faith communities and foundations to continue to fulfill our mission each day. We hope you will join us in making a difference. For more information visit our website at www.HospitalityHouseOfCharlotte.org

  • We're excited to introduce a new opportunity within our Meals that Heal program: Casserole Teams! This initiative ensures a meal is always available even when volunteers aren't. There are several ways to participate, making it a very flexible opportunity for volunteer groups of all sizes.    Cook & Assemble at HHOC: Plan what you’ll make, purchase your ingredients, and use the House’s fully equipped kitchen to prepare and assemble the casseroles.   Buy & Drop Off at HHOC: If you’re unable to assemble casseroles in our kitchen, feel free to buy and drop off fresh or frozen casseroles purchased at a grocery store/restaurant/caterer. Thank you to Davidson College Serves for creating casseroles for our guests! ♥️

  • Guests call our kitchen the ‘heart of the House.’ This is where experiences are shared and bonds are formed, which is why offering daily meals is a vital part of HHOC’s mission. Hospitality House is committed to offering daily meals for guests, which equates to 750 meals a month or 9,000 meals a year. 🍽️ “After a rough day of staying at the hospital, it is such a relief to go back and enjoy a free dinner and conversation with others.” - Elaine Steading  During their five-week stay at the House, Elaine and Steve Steading found comfort in the dining room. Through the Meals that Heal program, they were able to build relationships with other families in medical crisis, all while not having to worry about where their next meal would come from.  Dedicated volunteers can provide some meals throughout each week but they may not be available every day. Your gift will ensure our meal calendar stays full. Additionally, your contribution will help keep HHOC’s kitchen stocked with pantry staples, fresh fruit, and grab-and-go breakfast items. Medical journeys can often turn into financial hardships. That’s why, something as simple as a meal, can go a long way.   Will you help to provide meals for guests facing medical uncertainty? Your contribution will reduce the burdens for guests like the Steadings by providing the comforts of home.  Visit our website to contribute today! ♥️ https://lnkd.in/eubx8xY7
