JobsFirstNYC is proud to announce the release of our latest report, 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙞𝙚𝙡𝙙: 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙨𝙫𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚 𝙃𝙪𝙗 𝘾𝙤𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚. This report highlights how the Brownsville Hub Cooperative (BHC), a JobsFirstNYC partnership, is pioneering community-led solutions to spark economic growth in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Through a people-centered, equity-based approach, BHC is building a self-sufficient community that fosters individual and collective wealth through education, ownership, business, and workforce development. BHC was featured on CBS News yesterday evening, January 28, 2025, highlighting its innovative approach to community-driven economic development. “As Executive Director of the CENTRAL BROOKLYN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION INC, La’Shawn Muhammad is working with a $1.58 million grant from the The Robin Hood Foundation, a charitable organization which works to address problems caused by poverty.
