About us
LiveSeeding is an innovation project funded under the EU Horizon Europe programme that runs from 2022 to 2026. The project officially started in October 2022. The coordinator of the project is FiBL Europe, and the project brings together 37 partners from 17 European countries. The main objective of the LIVESEEDING project is to foster the growth of the organic sector and transition towards more sustainable local food systems by delivering high-quality organic seeds of diverse cultivars adjusted to organic farming for a wide range of crops. LIVESEEDING aims to: - increase and optimize crop diversity to be used in organic farming systems - advance pre- and post-registration cultivar testing dedicated to organic farming - increase supply of organic seed - increase transparency of the organic seed market - ensure efficient scaling out and scaling up of organic seed and breeding initiatives - promote organic breeding supported by value chain partners and society - capacity building and participatory knowledge creation from seed to plate - promote the competitiveness of the organic seed and breeding sector

🌱 Exciting news from the #LiveSeeding project! 🌱 On Monday, January 27th, 2025, the #LiveSeeding project successfully hosted its first Module for online Training on organic breeding, bringing together over 𝟏𝟎𝟎 participants! 🥳🥳 Units from the first Module focused on: 🌱 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜/𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 🌱 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 🌱 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 Each unit was concluded with a quiz and Q&A, where participants had the chance to dive deeper into these topics with the presenters. 📖 🤓 This first training was a success and a promising start for many more trainings to come within the hashtag #LiveSeeding project! They specialize exclusively in the reproduction, import and promotion of 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬. 🌱🌶 As part of the #LiveSeeding project, expert from 𝐎𝐈𝐊𝐎𝐒 𝐒𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐒 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐊𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬 is working to produce 100% organic seeds in time, as to help reaching 𝟏𝟎𝟎% 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝 in #Europe by 2036.
