Meet Jeannie: Professional Development Specialist at our Texas location! Jeannie joined MIS 4 years ago with over a decade of donation experience, in various roles. "The knowledge and experience of the intricacies of eye donation from those who built this organization and have passed it forward to those who are now here, is astounding." she says. Jeannie has an immense gratitude for our donor families. "It is a bittersweet situation, loss of life for one family and hope restored for another. What we do is only possible through the gifts from our donors and their families." Outside of work, you can find Jeannie spending time with her family, friends and cats. She also loves beaches, rollercoasters, and staying active by swimming, biking and hiking! #MIS #MeetTheTeam #EyeBanking #TX

A tribute to: Barry Parris "He is my hero and always has been." says his sister, Pam. In his early 20's, Barry was in an accident by a drunk driver. He had a 5% chance of surviving through the night after immediate brain surgery, but was fortunate to live many many years after. "He was such a fighter. He taught himself how to walk and write again. Built his little small house on his own , but of course with little help here and there from family and friends." Pam says. "I've never known anyone with such a big and caring heart." Pam finds comfort in knowing that even after Barry was gone, he was able to help someone else. "I do hope that one day I would get to meet anyone that he was able to help and tell them what a great person he was." As Barry would say, "God Bless". With July 4th right around the corner, safety is key! Fireworks are fun, but they can be dangerous if not handled properly. Protect your vision and avoid eye damage or blindness by following safety precautions: 1. Wear protective eyewear. 2. Keep a safe distance from fireworks. 3. Never aim fireworks at anyone. 4. Don't handle fireworks if you're under the influence. 🎆 👁️ #EyeSafety #IndependenceDay #Celebration #Vision #Fireworks #MIS
