In a heated and divisive election cycle, healthy disagreement can feel like a lost art. The Better Arguments Project, a partnership from the Aspen Institute’s Citizenship and American Identity Program, exists to help people find healthier, more constructive ways to disagree and exchange ideas. Learn more about the project, and its "argument" for why arguing is actually a good thing, at the link below.

As we continue to remember and honor the visionary work of our colleague, Lola Adedokun, former Executive Director of the Aspen Global Innovators Group and co-chair of the Aspen Institute Forum on Women and Girls, her legacy remains a guiding force. In her insightful article, Leadership Is Cause; Everything Else Is Effect, featured in Next Generation Evidence by Project Evident and The Brookings Institution Press, Lola highlighted the need to invest in the next generation of leaders of color, recognizing them as resilient forces in navigating today’s intricate social challenges. "To build next generation evidence, the next generation of leaders need intellectual curiosity and a clear vision; they are creators and dreamers on the constant quest to achieve the ideal world—where every human is cherished, beloved, and enabled to lead self-determined lives," Lola said. Read the entire article to explore her insights and recommendations on the different factors crucial for the growth, resilience, and success of rising leaders dedicated to social change and public impact. https://lnkd.in/erK4aWrm

Currently on display at the Resnick Center for Herbert Bayer Studies, "Bauhaus Typography at 100" explores the school’s unique legacy in graphic design and typography through artifacts of its own making – its books, magazines, course materials, product catalogs, stationery, promotional fliers, and other ephemera — as well as objects created by its many students and teachers before and after the time of the school. We caught up with Lissa Ballinger, Executive Director of the Resnick Center for Herbert Bayer Studies, to walk us through the exhibits and help shed light on Aspen Institute's rich Bauhaus history. We are excited by the release of the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s first-ever National Strategy for Financial Inclusion! 🙌 🙌 Years in the making, with the input and support of a broad cross-section of leaders, this landmark strategy is an important step in ensuring a robust and inclusive financial system for all people in America. This bold plan will help families and businesses achieve short-term stability and build long-term financial security. As conveners of the Working Group on Inclusive Finance, Aspen FSP is proud to have played a role in bringing this strategy to life. In the words of FSP’s co-executive director Ida Rademacher: “Having the highest level of government launch a strategy this robust–with national objectives, priorities, and action steps laid out–signals its vital importance to American households and increases our momentum toward building a financial system that fosters greater trust and works for everyone.” Working across five key objectives, the strategy will help ensure that every person in America has equitable access to affordable and tailored transaction accounts, safe and affordable credit, savings and investments, government-backed financial services, and protection from illegal and predatory practices. Alongside our partners, we’re eager to get to work to help implement this shared vision and realize the strategy’s full impact for future generations! "We need to take climate action now. There is no more time to wait. And so it's really figuring out how best can we utilize the resources, the tools, the reports that are already out there instead of recreating the wheel," says Laura S., Climate Manager at the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs, as she breaks down the crucial role of entrepreneurship in tackling climate challenges on the latest episode of #AspenIgnites. Together with Ramona Schindelheim, Editor-in-Chief of WorkingNation, Laura explores how small and growing businesses globally are driving impact by bringing innovative solutions to climate adaptation, resilience, and mitigation. Yet, financing for climate entrepreneurship remains an ongoing challenge. Only a small percentage of development assistance is directed to these entrepreneurs, and even less within the climate sector. Explore how entrepreneurs and the private sector are creatively accelerating climate progress and the strategies for supporting their growth like public-private partnerships and targeted, country-specific research: https://lnkd.in/d9Jtb-YT
