This month, we hosted the WTS Philadelphia Mentoring Program graduation alongside SHPE GPC and COMTO Philadelphia, PA at STV's office. This special event honored the dedication and commitment of both mentee and mentor participants over the past six months. We deeply appreciate our mentors for sharing their time, wisdom and expertise to shape the future of transportation. Equally, we commend our mentees for their dedication, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn. During the event, participants engaged in group discussions and mentor-mentee one-on-one sessions, reflecting on their journeys and the goals set at the beginning of the program. These conversations highlighted the progress made and the mutual benefits of the mentoring relationships. If your organization is interested in partnering with WTS Philadelphia for the 2024-2025 Mentoring Program, please contact us at professionaldevelopment@wtsphiladelphia.org! #AdvancingWomen #AdvancingTransportation #mentoring

WTS Philadelphia is one of the most vibrant chapters in an international organization linking more than 40,000 transportation professionals! WTS International, originally named Women’s Transportation Seminar, launched in 1977. Women were largely discouraged from participating in professional associations – unless the activities were deemed educational. So a group of pioneers whipped up a plan to escape the office – typically during lunch – under the guise of attending a seminar. The goal: to advance women who worked in all levels of transportation, as well as the very industry itself. Sure, there was a learning component… but there was an even greater emphasis on forging connections. WTS Philadelphia emerged two years later on June 21, 1979. Thank you to our founding members, sponsors, supporters, and most importantly to the volunteer board (past & present) who have helped shape our chapter into what it is today! #advancingwomen #advancingtransportation #wtsphilly45in45 #45thAnniversary
