Indeed! Across the spectrum of level of expertise, software developers, programmers and researchers heavily rely on open source software packages. The question is, how do we determine if such packages are malicious (or not)? This research paper deals with the problem of detecting malicious packages using metadata information in a very novel way. We started Cyber College Cymru 4 years ago. Today we have over 100 students involved and still growing. Check out the video to see what the students and employers think. For me what’s great to see is the students now working in Cyber Security roles, like Penetration Testing & SOC Analyst, Roles in Wales that some of the students would never have thought about doing only a few years ago. The National Cyber Force (NCF) is expanding its presence in the North West of England with a new partnership in Preston. The partnership will see the NCF collaborate with academic institutions and industry to create jobs and support the North West Cyber Corridor. The NCF is responsible for protecting the UK from cyberattacks, and the partnership with partners in Lancashire is a vital step in this effort. By working together, the NCF and its partners can develop the skills and expertise needed to keep the UK safe online. The partnership is also a welcome boost for Preston. The NCF's new home in Samlesbury is expected to create jobs and support the local economy. The NCF's expertise in cybersecurity will also help to make the area a more attractive place for businesses and investors. As a resident of Preston, I am excited about the NCF's new partnership. I believe that it will bring real benefits to the city and the region. Diving Deep into Cyber-Warfare at the ANU Yesterday, in our course "Cybercrime: an introduction," hosted by the ANU Centre for Social Research and Methods and supported by the ANU Cybercrime Observatory. We had the distinct honor of being joined by MJ Lasse Kronborg, Deputy Head at the Royal Danish Defense College, Institute for Military Technology. As a subject matter expert in Cyber Warfare and Cyberspace Operations, Lasse enriched our understanding with his in-depth knowledge on: [1️] How nation-states continually update their cyberspace capabilities.  [2️] The evolving role of cyber-espionage in global conflict.  [3️] Doctrines like MAD in traditional military strategies and their potential cyber counterparts.  [4️] Psychological and behavioral facets of cyberwarfare.  [5️] The intricate relationship between state-sponsored cyber activities and cybercrime.  [6️] The potential role of entities like the United Nations in addressing cyber-conflicts. CTF is evolving from a game of fun into a real-world training ground for various cybersecurity positions, and with this I'm happy to share a quick overview about the challenges that I created : - The first challenge, sisCall, assesses participants' skills in bypassing anti-debuggers, understanding seccomp rules, and utilizing the Z3 library. - The second challenge focuses on both dynamic and static analysis, mirroring the real-world demands of a reverse engineer. In the 19th century, the Portuguese Navy used this special lock to secure a ship’s bridge with a passcode known only to the captain and his deputy. This lock is part of an exhibition by the Israel National Cyber Directorate - מערך הסייבר הלאומי, and we're extremely proud to be one of the 25 elite companies selected to present the Israeli cybersecurity industry in this interesting exhibition which debuted this week at #CyberWeekTLV2024. The exhibition connects the innovations of select Israeli cybersecurity companies with ancient locks that symbolize each company's distinct strengths. For Cydome, it's an honor to be represented by a lock that signifies our unwavering commitment to maritime security.
