As the Council of the EU prepares to adopt its general approach on the revision of the #PPWR, we would like to stress the importance of adopting measures that align with both environmental & competitiveness objectives of the EU. The #cosmetics industry in Europe calls on Member States to: ✔️Define effective #packaging minimisation rules that preserve packaging differentiation & the many functions of cosmetic products’ packaging ✔️Ensure harmonisation of national rules to avoid fragmentation of the EU Single Market ✔️Allow labelling information for small cosmetic products to be accessed digitally versus on-pack to help minimise packaging and contribute the waste reduction objectives; ✔️Develop minimum #recycled content rules that guarantee packaging functionality and the high-quality of cosmetic products to continue to ensure consumer safety https://bit.ly/41gXJF3

https://lnkd.in/gXkx3CSp Let’s be realistic. Governments and banks have heavily invested in plastic companies for years, making sudden taxation an impractical solution. Focusing solely on recycling, reusing, and reducing isn’t enough. Microplastics pose significant health risks, especially to babies, but current solutions fall short. Instead of imposing bans without plans, we should test and accept enzymatic biodegradation additives from various companies, including ours. By working together, we can develop comprehensive standards that benefit everyone and effectively address the problem. Let’s collaborate to create real change. #God #esg #plastic #solutions #Sustainability #Innovation #enzyme #additive for #plastic

Regulations disrupting formulation Consumers are not the only ones who are pushing for more #sustainable practices in the #cosmetic industry, regulators are joining in too. In fact, there is a great deal of change happening at a regulatory level as environmental safety criteria are becoming more important to us all. Cosmetic regulations have always focused on human health, but now other regulations affecting our industry are being influenced by recent environmental studies that highlight the presence of novel pollutants in water systems as well as the human body. The sources of these pollutants are various, with the cosmetic industry being only one of the contributors.

We welcome the position of the European Parliament on the Green Claims Directive (GCD). The new rules under this Directive will be key to fight greenwashing practices and create a level playing field as well as legal clarity among traders. The GCD is particularly important for our sector because cosmetic claims play a crucial role in differentiating cosmetic products from each other, stimulating innovation, and fostering competition.
