Last week the Interreg NPA team participated in the #EUArcticForum and #IndigenousPeoplesDialogue, and EU-Arctic Youth Dialogues (#YT4AF), jointly organized by the European Commission and the European External Action Service. We were invited to share with concrete examples how Interreg Northern Periphery and Arctic and Interreg Aurora projects can make a difference to reach the goals of a more green and inclusive European Arctic.  It was also highlighted that these programmes are an instrument for Arctic communities to work together on topics of relevance to them, because Interreg programmes offer resources and skills, but it is the local communities who need to come up with the project ideas and solutions. Above all, it was an opportunity to learn what Interreg programmes can do better to facilitate local communities, indigenous peoples and youth participation in European cooperation programmes across borders. 🇪🇺 The European Heritage Hub project – co-funded by the European Union and run by a consortium of 20 partners led by Europa Nostra – is launching a Small Grants Scheme to support projects protecting cultural heritage in EU neighbouring countries. This initiative is supported by the ALIPH Foundation. ✅ The European Heritage Hub Small Grants Scheme aims at encouraging and empowering heritage stakeholders from neighbouring countries of the European Union (including Ukraine, Moldova, the Caucasus and the Western Balkans) to become active protagonists of the wider European heritage movement, enhancing their capacity to respond to Europe’s green, digital and social transformation. ⏰ Deadline : 31 March 2024 ✅ Objectives: Building the capacity of civil society; enhancing the key role of cultural heritage for the Triple Transformation of our society, economy and the environment (green, digital and social) and building peace, stability, reconciliation through heritage-led activities. ‼️ The European Heritage Hub Small Grants Scheme will support initiatives of 3 sizes. EUROPE, LET’S COOPERATE 🤝 The “Europe, let's #cooperate!” event was organised by the Interreg Europe Programme in Antwerp on 20-21 March 2024, on which our Belgian project partner, the Vlaamse Landmaatschappij had the opportunity to introduce the #NBS4LOCAL #project objectives and the #policy instrument ‘Sustainable Agro-Water-Landscapes’ of the Flanders region during the session “Building greater local climate resilience”. This was a great chance not only to talk about the importance of our project, the necessity to apply nature-based solutions and include them into regional policy instruments, but also to discuss about possible good practices to help building local climate #resilience.
