NEWS: A new scheme has been established to deliver certified sustainable fuel for Formula 1. 🏎️ The FIA – Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile has mandated the use of 100% sustainable fuel derived from 'Advanced Sustainable Components' from the 2026 Formula 1 season, ensuring that fuels come from sustainable feedstocks and that they also meet stringent greenhouse gas emissions thresholds. The Sustainable Racing Fuel Assurance Scheme (SRFAS) has been developed by Zemo Partnership in collaboration with the FIA to provide robust assurance of the deployment of sustainable, low carbon fuels in motor sport. Race car manufacturer Dallara and recycled nonwoven composite specialist TENOWO GmbH collaborated to produce a race-ready Formula 2 seat using recycled carbon fiber, reducing CO2 emissions by 97.5% compared to virgin materials.
