The current job market may be tough, but that doesn't mean we give up on our goals. As a Junior UI Artist, Narrative Designer, and UX Designer, the search for a job has been challenging with the layoffs of major companies. However, with many veterans becoming free agents, independent studios have the pick of the litter. It's easy to feel discouraged by the constant competition, but it's important to keep pushing forward. These moments of hopelessness are what remind us to fight for the positions we want and to never give up. Let's continue to fight for our dreams, whether that means making our own studios or persevering until we reach our desired positions. Small tip for those hiring designers, when you have a field for portfolio, be sure to have a place for applicants to also write their portfolio password. Being on this side, it's scary to think that someone might look at the portfolio, see projects that are password protected and bounce from it. #hiringdesigners #gamejobs #uxdesign #uxjobs

A letter to designers from Developers😎 Dear UI/UX Designers, We, the developers, have a bone to pick with you all. First off, we love the new design – it's clean, it's modern, but it's... impossible to code😭. Like Seriously, did you use a random color generator for the palette? We've seen less complexity in a Rubik's Cube. And those curves on the buttons – are they meant to hypnotize us? Because they're working. We've been staring at them for hours trying to figure out the CSS. Also, a quick question: Do the hover effects come with a manual? We're thinking of hiring a magician to help us implement them. Seems like the only logical solution at this point. In all seriousness, your work is as beautiful as it is unfeasible. Keep it up, and we'll keep Googling "how to turn a PSD into a working website without losing our minds." Looking forward to the next challenge you throw our way! What level should we hire a Founding Product Designer? In my experience, I've seen a higher rate of success when the company commits to hiring a Snr (and beyond) Level Designer. That Seniority of experience brings expertise primarily in the form of speed. They are faster, they know the way through (because they've navigated failures already) and they are able to get Your Product to market and to Customers faster and more effectively than a less experienced Designer. When growing and scaling is key to your businesses success, it's a huge value add to bring in the experience levels you need. It'll be far more worth it - I've seen it, many times! #designhiring #foundingdesigner

Does such talent exist on the market? I'm hiring for a unique type of talent into the team that who can do wireframe / prototyping quickly using UI/UX design tool such as Figma, meanwhile he/she should be having the in-depth know-how of AI or Machine Learning (which means better he/she is originated from tech background but have an outstanding aesthetic appreciation capability.). I'm not sure whether such talent would exist on the market. But I do know I definitely don't want to hire two separate individuals to create 10x communication burden trying to let artist/designer and geek talking at same channel.
