More exciting redevelopment for Greater Manchester! There are six previously neglected areas of our city region soon to be unrecognisable if developments go to plan. Key projects include the transformation of former industrial sites into mixed-use developments featuring residential, commercial, and public spaces including: 1. Atom Valley (Rochdale, Bury & Oldham): A new technology and innovation hub across three sites on the M62 corridor, along with 20,000 new jobs and 7,000 new homes. 2. Holt Town - East Manchester: 4,500 new homes, some of which will be affordable, as well as greenspace and opportunities for around 1,500 new jobs. 3. Victoria North - Collyhurst: 15,000 new homes and seven new neighbourhoods, with potential to grow the population by 40,000 people. 4. Ashton-under-Lyne: Development of an “innovation park” and Ashton town centre's market square and Town Hall are also set for a facelift thanks to £20m awarded to the area. 5. Wythenshawe: 1,750 new homes are set to be built, including supported accommodation and genuinely affordable houses, along with a brand new cultural hub and a new public square. 6. Oldham: Developer Muse is working with the council to transform the town, improving its centre and building 2,000 new homes. These projects aim to revitalise the local economy, provide new housing options, and enhance community facilities. The plans are also expected to bring significant investment to the region, improve infrastructure, and create jobs. Further evidence that it's a great time to be a Greater Mancunian! #manchester #development #propertydevelopment

Central Jersey is evolving, and the groundbreaking of Riverton in Sayreville, Middlesex County, marks a long-awaited transformation of one of the region’s most challenging sites. For decades, the former National Lead site sat vacant, a 418-acre reminder of industrial decline. Today, thanks to a $2.5 billion redevelopment effort, Riverton is becoming a vibrant mixed-use waterfront destination. This is a powerful example of how public-private partnerships can drive progress. The project received up to $400 million in funding through New Jersey’s Aspire Program, incentivizing the inclusion of affordable housing and broader economic development. Spearheaded by Cincinnati-based North American Properties in collaboration with New Jersey’s own PGIM Real Estate, Riverton showcases how out-of-state investment can combine with local expertise to create real impact. When complete, Riverton will offer 1,300 residential units (20% affordable), retail shops, waterfront dining, and a 200-slip marina. It’s a bold mix of residential, recreational, and economic opportunities, anchored by Bass Pro Shops and QuickChek Corporation with more tenants to come. What excites me most is seeing the revitalization of this long-vacant site into a hub for living, working, and recreation. It’s proof that even the most complex challenges can be overcome with vision, collaboration, and the right incentives. Projects like Riverton redefine suburban development in Central Jersey, and they provide a blueprint for how thoughtful partnerships can create new opportunities for our communities. #BuilderToBroker #RealEstate #CentralJersey #EconomicDevelopment #MixedUseDevelopment #PublicPrivatePartnership #AspireProgram

Great article by Kate Pix at Kajima Europe and it’s a great message about valuing these very special towns we already have as regeneration targets. Communities local connection to their town is significant and if we can use these towns as a growth opportunity we alleviate pressure on cities but we also respect the people who live there. We are always from the town we are from…not the local city, the town. In many northern towns young people move to larger towns and the cities often just to live, for employment and for accommodation. Towns also have very little property movement. So without new projects they become stuck with ageing communities. New projects like retirement living projects create opportunities for old people to move out of larger family homes releasing this housing stock for families and so creating a housing churn much needed to keep our towns vibrant. The Senior Housing & Healthcare Association is championing these economic with their members. Kate also makes a great point about retail and the inclusion of the retail high streets and shopping centre projects in this regeneration project. Revo - Retail. Property. Community. The community of this keen to see regeneration of shopping places and this is a message we have championed. https://lnkd.in/ekeY8xpT shows that retail physical shopping is making ground against online. Finally as chair of the Revo Educational Trust we champion learning and development in the sector. With Solent University we have continued to develop “The Revo Diploma” educating the next generation of leaders in our sector from all kinds of shopping places. Maybe we need ask Kate Pix to do a masterclass next year! https://lnkd.in/ehfaAnkP

Salford City Council and Onward Homes agree a deal to build 100 new homes 🤩 As someone with a background in facilities management, I’ve seen a lot of housing projects, but this one really stands out. In order to combat the housing crisis in Salford, Onward Homes and Salford Council have joined forces to create sustainable, community-focused spaces that people will be proud to call home. It’s a modern, forward-thinking approach that ticks all the right boxes. In today’s world, energy-efficient designs aren’t just a bonus, they’re a necessity. This development is not just looking at the here and now; it is considering accessibility, convenience, and how these homes will fit into the broader community. What’s also fantastic is how this project is set to rejuvenate the local area. Turning underutilised spaces into vibrant residential communities that can be used by all. They're not just building houses – they’re building communities. I’m genuinely excited to see the positive impact this will have. #housing #manchester #council #affordablehousing
