In a collaborative effort by Jacqueline Bassey, Aaron De Smet, Emily Field, Taylor Lauricella and Brooke Weddle from McKinsey Health Institute, {Thriving Workforce} their thoughts about those in the workforce centered on the following, ‘Employees are now more like elite artists or athletes who are inspired to produce at the highest levels but need adequate time to recharge and recover.’ It’s a fascinating way to think about employees and makes perfect sense since maximizing one’s efforts can’t be 24/7/365 behavior. And if we ponder panelists for a moment and see them as the ‘employees’ of panel companies, are they somehow inspired to produce at the highest levels? It would be difficult to argue that is happening on a regular basis. The key is to create an environment where panelists are not only stimulated to give it their best but can even recharge and recover during the task, something we frankly do not see today. GMIFY is working toward inspiration, recharging and recovery, all part of the respondent experience. #mentalhealth #dataquality #marketresearch #insightsassociation #esomar #newmr

❗ 5 Undeniable Reasons Why Ignoring Employee Well-Being is Not Just Costing Your Business Money, But Compromising Its Integrity ⬇ There's more at stake than just money. A company's reputation and culture lie in its people. Here are some consequences of not prioritizing employee well-being: 1️⃣ Productivity Drop: Employees grappling with poor well-being are not only less productive but also less engaged. The effects? Greater absenteeism and less innovation. It's not just about output; it's about the human behind it. 2️⃣ Higher Turnover: Loyalty is a two-way street. Employees who are not empowered to do their best, venture elsewhere. Not only is rehiring and retraining expensive, but it costs organizations institutional knowledge. Nurture their well-being; it's not just cost-saving, it's the right thing to do. 3️⃣ Diminished Creativity: An exhausted or unhappy mind is less likely to think outside the box. A company that values well-being will generate more innovation. 4️⃣ Skyrocketing Healthcare Costs: Work-related health concerns bleed billions from corporate accounts annually. Investing in well-being isn't just financially savvy, it’s a clear signal you value your employees as people, not just assets. 5️⃣ Brand Reputation at Risk: Today, with transparent platforms like Glassdoor, companies that disregard well-being face more than just recruitment challenges. They risk being labeled as uncaring. Engage, react, and share in the comments! Had a great interview with Loryan Strant and Megan Strant in the latest episode of Road Work Ahead. We tackled neurodiversity in the workplace (ASD/ADHD particularly). I absolutely loved the direction of the discussion. Here are my takeaways: 1. The struggles that neurodiverse workers have in the workplace are the same struggles that neurotypical people have in the workplace - unclear expectations, unnecessary distractions, and disorganization. 2. We don't care as much about ND awareness as we care about creating a work environment that can be productive for everyone. 3. Forward motion should include ample time for retrospection. 4. Technology isn't a magic bullet, and most of the problems in the average workplace originate with bad technology choices. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/gi39E9j7
