Five years since the passing of our visionary founder Mr. Arthur Ryan 💙
Today marks the fifth anniversary of the passing my dear friend and our visionary founder Arthur Ryan, or Mr. Ryan, as he was known to most. Arthur instilled in Primark a passion for people, an obsession with product, and a commitment to staying true to who we are as a brand, and these are still seen and felt throughout the business every day. After retiring as CEO in 2009, he continued as our Chairman and remained as passionate about the Primark business as he was when I first met him. Since his passing, we have continued to grow and evolve, and I have no doubt he would be unbelievably proud of where we are today. If he were here, he would remind us to always remember who we are, challenge ourselves to be the best we can be, push boundaries and never be complacent or satisfied. These remain guiding principles at Primark today and I often stop and ask myself “what would Arthur do?”. An inspiration to so many and a true retail pioneer, Arthur is still very much missed today.
Had pleasure of meeting him on few store openings in the 1990s
Je l'ai croisé à Marseille pour le lancement des autres ouvertures en France.
The greatest ever. Miss him so much. The only negative thing he did was intro me to you 😂😂😂
