Although we have been fundraising and supporting the charity since September, we wanted to make the official launch in time with the New Year. 🙏 Today is the only day of the year when we ask everyone to share our post. This day belongs to the children who may not live long but make a lasting impact on the world in their short lives. Children's Palliative Care Day is celebrated on October 11. Child, pain, illness, short life... Naturally, these words frighten us all. In our already tense everyday lives, we try not to think about them too much. But this does not change the reality: children are still fighting for their lives. We cannot help anyone with fear. Fear will only prevent us from seeing these little ones, from understanding their situation, and from considering what we can do to help them. Please donate a symbolic 1 GEL and share this post with your friends. In doing so, more people will learn about hospice and more funds will be raised. Firefly World is supported by donations. Helping to brighten the tiny lives of these children, ease their pain, and support their families is perhaps the greatest good on earth. 💫 One day – 1 GEL – united for „fireflies“! 💫 💛 Join us too: Bank of Georgia; Beneficiary: NGO „Children's Hospice“; Description: Charity. Coming to hospitals near you! Did you know that nearly 30% of fathers feel unsupported when their child is hospitalized? While moms often receive emotional attention, fathers can feel overlooked during these tough times. Fathers play a vital role in supporting their families during medical crises, yet many face long hospital stays without the help they need. That’s why The Knights of Patriarch has launched the Fatherly Support in Crises (FSiC) program to ensure these fathers receive the support they deserve. Our initiative delivers care packages filled with essentials and resources to help fathers through these challenging moments, offering both practical items and emotional encouragement while they care for their loved ones. We believe that when fathers are supported, families are stronger. Join us in making a difference by spreading the word or donating to help fund our care packages. Together, we can make sure no father faces this journey alone.

January can be a difficult month for many of us, which is why creating safe, warm spaces facilitated by our skilled, compassionate team is such a valuable resource for new & expectant parents who are feeling emotionally vulnerable. We're seeing more & more families - the need is growing and we continue to receive referrals for parents who don't meet the stringent thresholds for specialist perinatal services. Last year we supported close to 400 families with a blend of tailored services. ******* We don't often talk openly about figures, but sometimes that can lead to misconceptions about how our service runs, so we're gently debunking some myths to show why giving back makes such a BIG difference to us: - It costs around £100,000 to run our service per annum, which is roughly £8,000 per month - We took a decision early in Smile's growth to remunerate our core delivery team roles, so these are not voluntary - though we do have a hybrid model & a team of volunteers - Although we're based in Children's Centres, we're not funded by the local authority or commissioned by the NHS - Our income model is a mix of grants, donations, regular giving & community/business partnerships - The climate is particularly tough for the third sector at the moment with squeezes on spend, yet a rising demand (a tricky equation to reconcile!) ************ If you've benefitted directly from our support, your life has been touched by it or you're passionate about the importance of perinatal mental health, you can give back in easy, affordable ways: - Through joining our Raise a Smile regular giving community: https://lnkd.in/eHPngZKM - By making a donation when you access our services (though there is no obligation & it doesn't affect you receiving support) - By becoming a Partner or choosing Smile as your Charity of the Year - Through creating your own fundraising event (a one off or series) to raise money for us Your support is hugely appreciated & we are so grateful to those who have given back to us over the years. Every penny goes straight back into service delivery. Pop us a DM or email hello@smilegroup.org.uk for more information. Thank you #fundraising #sustainability #thirdsector #perinatalmentalhealth

Starting off this Monday morning and week with some exciting news! At least it's exciting to me...🥳🤩 Jason Hughes and I are running ANOTHER marathon for charity🏃♀️🏃♂️ You know the drill, new race = new organization to raise funds and awareness for. This time around, we're running and raising funds for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. They are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment👩🏾⚕️ Additionally, no child is denied treatment from St. Jude based on race, religion, or a family's ability to pay. For these reasons, we’ve chosen to fundraise for St. Jude. This cause is very important to both of us; we have friends and family whose lives were drastically improved thanks to the ongoing work of St. Jude❤️🩹 We know that with the research and treatments they provide, that is likely true for you, as well. We're encouraged by the support we've already received, and we still need help reaching our total fundraising goal of $10,500 (which is being collected through two separate pages, the first of which is linked below). This is the minimum amount required to secure two spots in the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon, where we will each run 26.2 miles to raise awareness and funds🎖 Please note that 100% of the donated funds are directly supporting St. Jude; these are not used to cover travel expenses, etc. We know that with the help of our family and friends, we can reach this goal. Please help us by making a tax-deductible donation using the link below and sharing this throughout your network. Note: if you or someone you know has had a life-changing experience thanks to St. Jude, please reach out to me if you're willing to share your story. https://lnkd.in/gryDEZET #charityrunners #marathonrunners #runforgood #giveback

Beyond The Book provides an opportunity for parents living in prison to send a personal and thoughtful gift, which can help maintain an emotional connection despite physical separation. Choosing and sending a book with a personal message allows the parent to show they are thinking about their child, providing a sense of comfort and continuity in the relationship. Maintaining family connections has been shown to improve outcomes for both the child and the parent. Research suggests that strong family ties can reduce the likelihood of reoffending and positively impact rehabilitation efforts for the parent, as well as emotional stability for the child. By enabling a parent in prison to select and gift a book to their child, this simple act can help preserve a vital bond, supporting both emotional well-being and family unity during a challenging time of separation.
Beyond The Book is a newly registered children’s charity, supporting children who have a parent/guardian serving a custodial sentence. The impact this can have on a child cannot be underestimated. We understand the critical importance of maintaining family ties, this is important for all concerned but especially to keep these bonds strong between a child and parent during the period of absence. We source brand new books for parents to gift to their child. Strengthening parent-child bonds one book at a time. This year we are visiting HMP Eastwood Park for the third Christmas, but our first as a fully registered charity. We aim to take 500 books for this gifting day, enabling mums to personally choose, write a note, wrap and send to their child. This simple action, which we take for granted, will be the only opportunity for them to do this. The feedback we have received for previous years, from the mums, has been incredible. Please do visit www.beyondthebook.org.uk to find out more about the charity. This year we are delighted to be partnering with Emily, who runs a children’s bookshop called Little J’s World of Books https://lnkd.in/d5KkuPTQ and is passionate about getting more children reading. Emily will be supplying books at cost for Beyond The Book, so making no profit. We are looking for donations to purchase books and would be so grateful for you to be involved: You can donate £5 for 5 books, or, if you wanted to donate more, £25 would purchase 30 books. Every penny we receive will be spent directly on books for the gifting day. For your donation your business would be promoted across our social media channels and you will have contributed to making such a difference for parents and their children unable to spend Christmas together. We do hope this is something you would like to be involved in. If so, please contact us so we can let you know how to make your donation. info@beyondthebook.org.uk Thank you so much for taking the time to read our message. Best wishes, Louise and Cindy Beyond the Book Co-founders #childrensbooks #Usborne #giftabook #BeyondtheBook #HMPEastwoodPark
