We are reflecting on an enriching #jpm2024 week in San Francisco, where every meeting was a chance to create value and foster connections. For our consulting business, it was a week of insightful discussions, catching up with old friends, and exploring new collaborations. But what truly resonated was our shared commitment with our biotech clients to make a tangible impact on global health. Together, we engaged in discussions aimed at advancing healthcare innovation with a global perspective. From securing strategic partnerships to attracting potential investors, every interaction moved us closer to our shared goal of improving healthcare outcomes worldwide. The energy and enthusiasm for pushing the boundaries of science were infectious, and we're grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such a vibrant community. As we return home, fueled by the possibilities ahead, we're reminded of the privilege we have in supporting the visionaries and pioneers shaping the future of healthcare, one meaningful connection at a time. Here's to continued collaboration, innovation, and the real-world impact we can achieve together! Next week Fran and Renaud will be attending the Ontario Bioscience Innovation Organization (OBIO) Investment Summit in Toronto. We look forward to exploring the latest health technologies being developed locally and meeting the investors who are supporting them at this event. If you will be in Toronto and want to connect, please reach out and we'll set something up! 🚀 How do we gear up our organisation to commercialise and scale, without losing our innovative core? Today, in the third module of our life science scaleup program #10xHealth, our expert Anna Brattström from Lund University School of Economics and Management guided our 10xHealth companies through frameworks and tools relating to organising people, processes and organisational structures that are foundational for growth, managing the tension between explorative and exploitative phases of a company’s journey, as well as the shift from a focus on science to a focus on business. 📈 The #10xHealth program is targeted towards life science companies with the ambition to grow and scale. It is jointly developed by SmiLe Venture Hub and Medicon Village and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. 🌟 Companies participating in the 2024 pilot include: Paindrainer AB, Iconovo AB, Neola Medical, Uman Sense, Cyxone, NanoEcho AB 📧 If you're curious to find out more, feel free to reach out to Christine Dahlman Jacobsen or Sarah Lidé. #lifescience #scalingup

R&D + Science + AI = Patients | Tech Leader | Global Enterprise Leader | Life Sciences | Non-Executive Director | High-Performance Divisions | Diversity-Driven | Transformation Strategist | Innovation Cultivator |
Innovation is multi-disciplinary, has multi-dimensional talent and requires multi-lateral engagement I joined #founders, #funders, #investors, #developers, #boardmembers and #talentcultivators at the Cooley LLP and British Patient Capital innovation event. My key take homes were.... 🔍 Nikolai Ahrens shared how #LifeScienceORG brings together talented #CEOs in #biotech, #medtech and #healthtech across Europe to connect and share experiences as #peers and from world class #mentors. 🎨 John Holodnak (Occam Global) spoke with great humour around how we should #experiment, just as how Andy Warhol harnessed technology to push the boundaries of art. 🎭 William Holodnak (Occam Global) made us all think differently about the need for #diversity in #highperforming executive #talent when building a #biotech or #techbio through considering the team as the #visionaries, #producers, #directors and #players in a movie. ⚛ Kamil Tamiola, Ph.D. (Peptone) shared how the most #disruptiveinnovation requires tenacity. We agreed that as #ai disrupts #lifescience, we are only just discovering whether #hallucination in #structuralbiology is wrong, or just an artefact of how we have historically measured molecules. 💡 Richard J. Law (Exscientia) powerfully articulated how #ai in #drugdiscovery is #hypothesis generation using the analogy of #designofexperiment at scale. 🏹 Edith Hessel (Relation) articulated the criticality of staying on target and build #proof-points along the way. ⚡ Alex Pasteur (F-Prime Capital) reinforced how interest and investment is growing in #techbio. 🌡 Danielle Belgrave (GSK) shared the need to follow opportunities for innovation across discovery and #clinical research. Thanks to Emma Johnson and Charlotte Davison (British Patient Capital) and Frances Stocks Allen (Cooley LLP) for hosting the event.

The time has come for the first Bi-weekly update from the Aniverse in 2024! The last two weeks were permeated with secretive happenings, so I will summarize it without disclosing the details (those will go out in the following few weeks): 1) VC Investment Four years after starting a company, during the most brutal fundraising environment ever, after investments from EIT Climate-KIC RIS and 70 angel investors, we realized our first VC investment. More about our lucky partners soon! (joke, the luck is mutual) 2) New HQ We signed the contract for the new, 3x bigger HQ that will unify offices, production, lab, fulfillment, and warehouse. We are moving in this month and will share more soon! 3) Clinical study - results We received the raw data from the participants of our first clinical trial. Our bioinformaticians interpreted the results, and I could just say that they are better than expected, confirming the power of bioactive compounds for gut health. These are only the first 28 samples (the study altogether has 150 ppl through 3 arms) - the official results are coming out soon! 4) Scientific Advisory Board We formed our Scientific Advisory Board of four extraordinary international scientists. We will onboard two more in the following two weeks and disclose all of them at once. 5) New team members We have three more scientists in our core team. I'll share each in the following posts (starting with this one). The following two weeks are reserved for the magic of shaping the future: - Marta, Manuela, Iva, and I will be presenting Ani Biome at CES in Las Vegas (Dragan & Bojan, thanks for this opportunity one more time; see you soon!), after which we will go together to our US HQ in SF - Nika will be presenting Ani on a few longevity panels at the World Economic Forum in Davos Looking forward to everything 2024 will bring! 🦄 💫 👅 #longevity #biotech #startup #venturecapital #investment #machinelearning #scienceandtechnology #mentalhealth #guthealth

Moving scientific discoveries to patients requires the expertise and support of many groups. At “Innovating for Cures,” a recent event held at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology, innovators, philanthropists and venture capital investors shared their thoughts on accelerating biomedical research advances to people with significant unmet medical needs. Benjamin Patz, managing partner of DeepWork Capital, manager of the #FloridaOpportunityFund, shared some encouraging statistics: 38,000 tech companies and more than 120 billion-dollar companies are based in #florida . Florida ranks fourth in the United States for total #technologyjobs , with over 440,000. Florida was also No. 1 in the nation in both 2021 and 2022 for new technology businesses established. Today, Florida universities invest more than $1.4 billion annually in life-science R&D, he noted. “We believe there’s an opportunity to invest here in Florida,” Patz said. The event was jointly sponsored by The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology; UF Innovate | Accelerate, the University of Florida’s technology licensing arm; and DeepWork Capital, a venture capital group that manages the Florida Opportunity Fund.
