𝗔 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗧𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 I am very much in the know when it comes to pharmacy recruitment. I stay informed about current hiring trends and openings and am constantly speaking with pharmacists who are passively seeking a career change. Pharmacists are valuable assets to any healthcare team, so retaining them is crucial. It seems quite simple doesn’t it, but lots of organizations get it wrong. If you have a high turnover of pharmacists, here are some strategies you can use: 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀: Review market rates regularly and ensure your compensation package is attractive. Offering benefits like health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and continuing education opportunities are key. 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: Foster collaboration, respect, and open communication. Address concerns promptly and create a space where pharmacists feel valued and heard. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Support pharmacists in pursuing continuing education and staying current with the latest advancements in their field. Offer tuition reimbursement or sponsorship for conferences and workshops. Provide clear pathways for promotion and professional growth. Offer mentorship programs and leadership development training. 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀: Regularly conduct employee satisfaction surveys. Get feedback from pharmacists and address their concerns proactively. Recognize and appreciate their contributions. Celebrate achievements, express gratitude, and offer public recognition for their work. Want to work for a business that offers the above? This was the EXACT moment I knew I was in a TOXIC workplace 🤮🤮🤮 Area manager walks in to the pharmacy with someone from head office. 👬 AM: We need to shut the pharmacy to carry out an investigation. 😬 Me: I have a queue of patients and a blister pack that needs to be checked off, can it wait til my lunch hour? 🤯 Boss: No, it must be done now! Shut the pharmacy. 😬 Me: ** Looking around at the queue of patients then at my curious team members. ** 🤷♀️ We shut the pharmacy and walked towards the back office. 🚶♀️ Me: ** Anxiety peaking, 🫀Heart pumping. Did I make a huge dispensing error? Did I forget to check an interaction? 🔪 DID I KILL SOMEONE? ** Boss: We have been notified that you made an error on the rota 🗓️ which meant there was no counter staff at the pharmacy on a Saturday. Me: Is that all? Yes it was an error. I was working that day and covered the dispensary and the counter. It’s not even in my jobrole to plan the rota. 🤷♀️ Boss: Your error lead to a potential loss of earnings. 🤑🤑🤑 Me: 🤢 With all due respect, I have been running this dispensary for TEN years; I am passionate about my job and my patients; I have taken this pharmacy from a quiet store to this buzzing business; I am a well respected pharmacist in the community; I exceed my targets every year and I have made you huge profits year on year. You scared me! I thought I had made a clinical error! ‼️ Boss: You will need to attend a performance disciplinary next week. 🤨 Me: 🙄 This is a little confusing since your feedback on my performance has always been that I'm doing an excellent job. 💡Without any hesitation I ripped off my TEN years performance badge and threw it at my boss. 🏃🏽♀️And then I walked out. And I never returned. ⛔️ ➡️ Best thing I ever did. 🙌 Look at me know.🏆 Being rewarded for my performance every day. 🤢 If you find yourself in a toxic environment, 🤙 get in touch and hopefully I can give you the courage to make that change. We are worth more than this. 🙏 #pharmacist #pharmacystudent #generalpractice #toxicworkplace #worklifebalance #bullying

Welcome back to our weekly Ecosystem update from our family of brands including Canwell, Farma, On-Schedule, On-Schedule UK, Scripty and Elevated Extracts. On-Schedule UK Phase 2 Underway & Farewell After 5 weeks, our time in the UK has come to a close (for this trip at least!), and we’re excited to see the OS Warehouse evolve in the good hands of Rishi Goindah and Andy Lloyd as they build upon a solid foundation, with the ongoing support of our wider Australian WH team. My 3 key professional take-aways from this trip have been: 1. It’s always worth the wait for the right person - Rishi was part of our final round of recruitment interviews, but we knew very quickly that he was the perfect person for this role. 2. Never let perfection be the enemy of progress - you don’t know what you don’t know, and launching any new business arm internationally will always throw a few curveballs. Focusing on the next thing in front of you, rather than always the macro picture, maintains movement without overwhelm. 3. Get familiar with the operation (from the ground up) - from Day 1, our whole Australian/UK team here has fully embraced ‘no job too small’ mentality. We all jump in where needed, and this helps to manage energy, but importantly a chance for new skills in areas we may not be exposed to in our day-to-day. Join the Naturally Elevated Team of Champions We’ve got two jobs live on SEEK currently, Customer Experience Manager & Key Account Coordinator, two roles that are integral to what we do, and a great opportunity to get your foot in the door of our growing Ecosystem. You can review the full ads and apply via the SEEK links below: CX Manager: https://lnkd.in/gtDeYxFa Key Account Coordinator: https://lnkd.in/guAGPQaR Education Hub: Driving & Alternative Therapies This week on the Farma blog, we’re talking about driving laws and prescription alternative medicine, enjoy the full blog linked here: https://lnkd.in/gCRqmaG8 #onscheduleuk #onscheduleglobal #naturallyelevated #growth #canwell #farma #alternativetherapies

How are you preparing? I spent some time early in my career scheduling pharmacists. It was a challenging job. Every Monday, my colleague, Walt, and I would touch base to look at the next week of scheduling we would have to solve. "It's never been this bad, has it?" was said pretty much every week. The year was 2003. The more things change, the more they stay the same. During that time, in addition to my dispensing duties, I was also doing my "best" to keep pharmacies open in the midst of a significant pharmacist shortage. I was woefully underprepared for that job. What I have learned in the many years since is that my ability to lead and influence people was quite limited. At the time, I thought this was just the way things were. What I did not know was that I could deliberately and intentionally improve my skills to lead and influence people. Where I stand today, I believe the most important skills anyone can learn are around influence and leadership. It doesn't matter the industry. The reality is that there will ALWAYS be another challenge coming. Some situation where you may say, "It's never been this bad before." I do not know what or when your next challenge will surface. In anticipation of that day, what are you doing to prepare? How are you growing and refining your ability to lead and influence people? Believe me, when that day comes, you will be so glad you did! #forpharmacy #forpharmacists #pharmacists #pharmacyleadership #leadwell #KeepPharmacistsImproving

Candidate experience is everything 🌟 When I started in the Pharmacy Recruiting space, I immediately knew I was going to love it. Coming from a background in (what I had planned to be my lifelong career) healthcare, I just knew. The reason why I knew, was because I was able to connect with individuals who also serve a purpose and have a sincere passion for this industry. During a phone interview with a Pharmacist, I instantly could pick up that this particular candidate was going to be a *unicorn* for our team. She had impressive past achievements and was single handedly, without hesitation, able to lead a short staffed team for months. It took me maybe 5 minutes into the interview to know she was it. There was no doubt in my mind that she would knock the hiring manager interview out of the park. I immediately took action and scheduled her for a final interview for not only the Staff Pharmacist opening, but for a Supervisor opening. Prior to hanging up the phone during our phone interview, she said, "I just love you!" I was at first taken back, but, then I remembered, this is exactly why I am sending her through. Not even a couple of days later, she was offered the Supervisor position. A couple of months later, I received the most heartfelt card in my mailbox thanking me for everything that I did for her. She has now been with the company for 7 months and still continues to reach out to me and thank me. Being able to provide a fast, seamless, yet productive interview process is so important. And what's even more important, is connecting with Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians like this! -Recruiters: Always remember what you're in it for! Provide the best candidate experience possible ✨ -Candidates: Always strive to be the unicorn 🦄
