Small Businesses and individuals saw extensive damage from storms over the winter, particularly flooding inland in December, and along the coast in January. Federal disaster assistance, in the form of Economic Injury Disaster Loans, is available in Maine counties affected by severe storms and flooding from Dec. 17-21, 2023. Assistance for businesses and individuals impacted by severe coastal storms and flooding from January 9-13, 2024 is also available. The deadline to apply for physical damage loans is May 20th, after which Economic Injury Disaster Loans will still be available. Apply at www.DisasterAssistance.gov.
