I have training and experience in a variety of issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, and family conflict; I am qualified to help. My goal is NOT to cure you, but to HELP facilitate positive changes in your life.

I have advanced certificates in marriage and family counseling, grief and bereavement, crisis and abuse counseling. We also do premarital counseling and are licensed and ordained for weddings ceremonies.

I've worked treating children and adults (ages 3 and up); I see the therapeutic process as a joint venture as we tackle the most salient issues folks struggle with. I look forward to hearing from those individuals who are eager to work toward bettering their lives.

Currently will not be accepting new clients. I believe children can be helped through a transition phase, or a traumatic event through play. Children need to be able to have their safe place to go to when many things in their life are too difficult. The age of the child does not matter (0-18) can be effected in a positive way through therapy. This can occur through multiple forms of therapy. Many of the concepts used in Play therapy can be transferred to adolescents and adults while keeping family dynamics at the focus of the therapy process.

My approach addresses trauma, helps cultivate authentic identity, and supports clients in rediscovering meaning and purpose.

I focus on individuals, females and males, from 19-90 as well as couples. I will provide feedback on decision making, emotions, and social dilemmas. As a counselor, I have the skills of listening, problem solving, support, and helping people rebuild connections with one another and others in their lives.

I am often asked how I help my clients. First, I see you as more than a client. I could be in your shoes. I would want you to treat me like real person instead of just another client. I get to know you...the real you. I dedicate time to hear where you have been and how those experiences helped shape who you are today. Next, we identify the roadblocks that have kept you stuck. Lastly, we move into solutions. We work together to identify strategies and the most effective ways to implement them.

I would consider it a privilege to get to walk alongside you in your journey towards restoration, strength, and healing. I view the counseling process as a joint effort, led by the client, working together toward a common goal. We will work together to personalize your treatment plan. I genuinely care about each one of my clients. I utilize a combination of Internal Family Systems and EMDR to help clients deal with trauma.

For over 30 years I have worked with children, adolescents, and families to facilitate educational and therapeutic change to increase resiliency and provide an opportunity for a more hopeful future through the use of a client centered trusting relationship and evidence-based therapies and practices. My Philosophy of care is based on a desire to seek to understand each person seeking help. I practice from a Biopsychosocial-Spiritual framework to support each client.

My name is Lamont Malcolm and I am a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and a certified DUI/ADSAC Assessor for the State of Oklahoma. I am the sole proprietor of Malcolm Counseling and DUI Services, LLC. I am currently only self-pay.

I have specialized knowledge to work with the chronically ill, as well as additional training in alcohol & drug addiction and/or gambling disorders. I offer both individual and family sessions.
