Empowering changemakers - Transforming tomorrow

Info

The Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP) of UNIDO, supported through the Global Environment Facility (GEF) in partnership with the Green Climate Fund (GCF), promotes clean technology innovation and entrepreneurship in emerging markets and developing economies for climate action. GCIP has pioneered a transformative intervention model that prompts cleantech industry development by combining direct business training and mentoring with investment facilitation and national ecosystem capacity-building. GCIP supports start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with innovative cleantech ideas in creating and upscaling robust business models. At the same time, GCIP strengthens national ecosystems and facilitates partnerships and networking between private and public actors. GCIP experts and implementation partners devise capacity-building tools and strategies for national technology innovation institutions, industry associations and business platforms. GCIP enables knowledge creation and exchange to promote collaboration and synergies across ecosystems.
