📢 On 12 September, #GCIP had an exciting opportunity to contribute to the UNESCO-IEEE Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Early-Career Engineers in Africa! At the bootcamp, participants learned about Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs), #innovation for #sustainabledevelopment, opportunity assessment, intellectual property, and financial & market knowledge for #startups. To inspire future #innovators, we invited four of our alumni from #Lesotho, #Nigeria and #SouthAfrica - Morongoe Caroline Falatsi, founder of NomsaPlasticBricks, Kenechukwu Mbonu, managing partner of ARMOGRID, Rita Idehai, founder of The Ecobarter Company & Luvuyo Ndiki, founder of RCV3D ™ – to talk about their #solutions, their #entrepreneurship journeys and exciting opportunities that lie ahead for those who choose their careers in #cleantech. As the world is facing many interconnected global challenges such as #climatechange, biodiversity loss, and socio-economic issues, we need a systems approach where innovation and entrepreneurship play critical roles in driving sustainable transitions. Young engineers, with their technical expertise and fresh ideas, are uniquely positioned to create lasting solutions. Innovation and entrepreneurship are critical drivers of sustainability transitions, and we are proud to support these efforts through the UNIDO’s GCIP, supported by the Global Environment Facility and the Green Climate Fund. We hope that our contribution to the bootcamp gave participants new ideas and inspired them to action. 🌐 Learn more about GCIP’s work, visit our website: gcip.tech 👉 If you want to work together towards a cleantech-powered future, write us at gcip@unido.org
