🟠 CPB Contractors is passionate about providing pathways that help all Australians build meaningful careers. In 2022, we signed our second three-year agreement with CareerSeekers, and we are proud to support their Mid-Career and Student Programs. ☀️ To date, 92 interns have joined CPB Contractors as part of these programs, and recently, we caught up with Stakeholder and Community Relations Coordinator Hamidullah Hussainzada. Hamid described what his journey has been like since arriving in Australia after fleeing Afghanistan with his family in 2019 and shared his story and insights on the value of career pathways like the CareerSeekers program. ⏩⏩Perth’s METRONET Thornlie-Cockburn Link (TCL) project is really tracking along nicely, with the installation of 26.5 km of rail tracks currently underway. Once complete, our CPB Contractors team will place close to 72,000 tonnes of rail ballast and more than 35,000 sleepers, forming the foundation of the coming-soon electrified rail line between Jandakot and Beckenham. 🚆Our CPB Contractors team is proud of our transformational role in delivering extended rail passages across Perth’s METRONET. Earlier this year, we handed back the 14.5km Yanchep Rail Extension portion of this project, and before we know it, commuters will be enjoying new and upgraded sections of TCL. So, now that Cross River Rail’s first test train trip is #done, what’s next for our CPB Contractors team? 🤔⏭️ This successful journey has set the project up for its testing and commissioning phase. What a special moment for our CPB Contractors team in Western Sydney!🧡 Today, the first aircraft successfully landed at Western Sydney International Airport as part of its Aeronautical Ground Lighting testing & commissioning process - completing validation from both land and sky. ✈️ While it might just look like a normal plane landing here, this was an amazing milestone for everyone at WSI, including our CPB Contractors team, who have proudly been working to deliver this project since its Early Earthworks Stage. #ConstructionTechnology x #ConstructionSkills 🎮🦺🧯 Recently, our CPB Contractors team in Melbourne, Victoria, hosted Jhye and Titus from the Bairnsdale Clontarf Foundation Academy for two days of work experience and learning at our projects. One of the highlights from their time with us was having the opportunity to put theory into practice using simulation construction technology. Using construction tech and tools from the Victorian Tunnelling Centre (VTC) located at Holmsglen TAFE, Jhye and Titus took a few simulators for a spin, including the two you see here – a virtual fire extinguisher simulation and a digger operation simulation. Safe, fun and familiarly gamified – Jhye and Titus developed the right skills during these sessions to operate a stationery digger, including its boom, bucket and swivel, which they did under the supervision of trainers. It’s not a #PipeDream🤩, it’s a #MajorMilestone🌟 Recently, the CPB Contractors and United Infrastructure teams delivering the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport Surface, Civil and Alignment Works (SCAW) project completed construction on one of the most complex sections of the #ComingSoon 23-kilometre alignment – taking the metro railway over the Warragamba pipelines, which transfer 80% of Sydney's water from Warragamba Dam to filtration plants for treatment across the State each day. Working in coordination with WaterNSW, our team's efficiency and safety-focused methodology brought this particularly complex dual-span section of elevated viaducts to life in one month. Now, this was a pretty special 4km train trip! 🤩 Our delivery of Brisbane’s transformational Cross River Rail project has reached another significant milestone, with its first train entering one of the twin tunnels and journeying to a new underground station platform.⤵️🆕 The inaugural trip involved the train entering the tunnel at a low speed of approximately five kilometres per hour and using minimal power to conduct several critical tests, including testing the overhead power systems with the train and ensuring safe movement through the tunnel.
