Behind the scenes on the M7-M12 Integration project! While major construction is well underway, our community relations team recently visited one of the suppliers’ manufacturing yards to capture some behind the scenes footage of the girder casting process. 🏗️ The project needs 477 girders and planks to complete the new M7-M12 interchange and M7 motorway bridges. Some girders will be delivered to the bridge locations on the day of installation, while others will be delivered and temporarily stored at the project’s main compound until installation dates. To date, we have received 34 pre-cast girders at the project compound, manufactured and transported from Tomago, NSW, via the M1, M2, and M7 Motorways. Check out the video to learn more! 🎥 Subscribe via our website to keep up to date with the latest news from the M7-M12 Integration project. 🎓 University of Technology Sydney Lucy Mentoring Program 🎓 It was great to host participants of the UTS Lucy Mentoring Program, an initiative by the NSW Government. Our M7-M12 Integration Project proudly mentors five talented female undergraduates. During their visit, mentees received a site tour, taking in highlights, including the launch noses at M12, earthworks for the realigned Wallgrove Road, and bridge works at Hoxton Park. They also had the opportunity to network with key project stakeholders, including Transport for NSW, Transurban, Jacobs, and Aurecon. These industry leaders shared invaluable insights about their organisations and career pathways. A big thank you to our Senior Project Manager Brandon Perrin who has championed the Lucy Mentoring program for the past six years. His contribution helps connect women and gender diverse people with rewarding careers in construction. 🤝 John Holland Transurban Westlink M7 Steve Kiddle, Steven Kotevich, Andie Pitsiatari, Colin Hansen, Robert Muir, Stefanie Nutt Tony Waters, Tim Page Tamsen Palmer Brandon Perrin #Mentoring #futurefocuses #womeninconstruction #thegrowthproject #careerconnections

Pioneering sustainable construction 🚧 ♻ The M7-M12 Integration project has unveiled Australia’s first mid-size fully electric excavator! This groundbreaking machine boasts a robust 40 kW of power. It meets the same high-performance standards as its diesel-powered counterpart; however, it achieves it with zero scope 1 emissions and is 100% electric. 🔌 Not only is it environmentally friendly, but it is also incredibly quiet which is great for out-of-hours work. A huge step forward for sustainability in construction! 💡 To subscribe for updates or for more information on the M7-M12 Integration project, including bridge designs and project updates, please visit our website https://lnkd.in/gRe8NmMn Steve Kiddle, Steven Kotevich, Andie Pitsiatari, Colin Hansen, Robert Muir, Tony Waters, Stefanie Nutt, Tim Page, Daniel Hogan, M7-M12 Integration Project, Westlink M7, Transurban, Anric Group #electricexcavator, #sustainableconstruction

Women in Construction mini-series 📽 Earlier this year, 11 talented women graduated from the M7-M12 Integration Project Pre-Employment Program. This program prepares individuals for an apprenticeship in civil construction and offers ongoing full-time employment with John Holland. One innovative aspect of the program is the late-start time of 8:45am, which helps remove barriers for those who cannot start at the industry norm of 6:45am and are looking to start a fulfilling career in construction. Each of these graduates has a unique story to tell. They have transitioned between industries and embraced new challenges on a major city-shaping project. We have documented their stories from the beginning. You can watch their journey unfold in episode one of our Women in Construction Mini-Series. 🎉 Celebrating International Women in Engineering Day! 🌟 In honour of International Women in Engineering Day, which was on Sunday, June 23, we had the pleasure of speaking with Madeline Teow about her role as a Utilities Site Engineer. Madeline shared her passion for construction and the joy she finds in being a part of something truly transformative. 💬 "Working in construction allows me to be a part of something much bigger than my younger self could have ever imagined! The ability to contribute to the transformation of a mere pile of dirt into a monumental structure is incredibly fulfilling. It's a rewarding feeling knowing that our work will benefit the wider community for years to come." We recognise and appreciate the incredible contributions women engineers are making in our industry. Let's inspire more women and young girls to consider a rewarding career in engineering.
