That’s a wrap on the 52nd NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Koori Knockout 🖤💛❤️ With over 30,000 spectators and 140 teams attending, it was a special opportunity for mob to come together, have a yarn and celebrate culture at Australia’s largest sports gathering of Aboriginal communities 🏉 As a proud sponsor of the Koori Knockout, it also represents a chance for us to get out and better understand the aspirations, challenges and opportunities for Aboriginal communities and promote the department as an employer of choice for mob 🤝 Learn more about our work supporting grassroots Aboriginal initiatives and self-determination at https://ow.ly/OaVR50TIur9 👈

We’re taking to the air in preparation for the coming summer bushfire season 🚁 To ensure people and communities are as protected as possible, we’ve teamed up with NSW Rural Fire Service and Soil Conservation Service to conduct helicopter inspections of 540+ fire trails covering more than 2,400km on Crown land and adjoining lands 🤝 The crews monitor the trails from the air to identify if trees have fallen and require removal, if erosion or vegetation growth has impacted trails, or if creek crossings need repair 🛠️ Aerial inspections reduce inspection times in these areas from months to weeks and are especially helpful in remote or less accessible areas. Inspections have started in the Sydney region and will continue across NSW throughout September 📅 Learn more about our bushfire mitigation program at https://ow.ly/JOOI50TpFlk 👈
