We've hit the road in 2025 with a new all-terrain ambulance – the first of its kind in SA. Combining the comfort and cargo capacity of a Toyota HiAce with the robust durability of a LandCruiser, the ambulance is also equipped with the latest in satellite communication technology and outfitted with modern medical equipment. It's built for the outback. The vehicle has commenced operations at our Community Health Clinic in Andamooka, Far North SA. 🤝 Co-designed and custom-built by our friends at St John NT. 📲 Read more: https://lnkd.in/g9UG8y7R

Congratulations to Karyn Paterson, RFDS SA/NT Deputy Flight Nurse Manager, who this week marked 35 years of service with the RFDS! Karyn began her Flying Doctor career with RFDS South Eastern Section in Broken Hill, before joining RFDS SA/NT where she has become a respected leader and mentor at our Adelaide Base. From delivering a baby in-flight to a Nullarbor highway landing retrieval, her journey has been full of remarkable highlights. But among the team, Karyn is best known for her caring nature, willingness to go out of her way to help and volunteer and, for always bringing calm no matter how frantic the situation. 🗣️ In Karyn’s words, “If you find what you love doing, you’ll never do a day’s work in your life.”

As 2024 comes to a close, we’re humbled by the incredible impact our teams have made across the nation. From remote cattle stations to rural coastline towns, our primary health and aeromedical services have been there for many Australians. Here are some stats... 🩺345,136 Total patient contacts through RFDS clinics, aeromedical transports, and telehealth consultations. 💙55,930 Patients in rural and remote areas used our telehealth services. 🏥22,462 Nurse and GP clinics were conducted across Australia 🧑⚕️158,587 Face-to-face primary health consultations These numbers tell a story of dedication, innovation, and compassion. But they're more than just statistics; they represent the countless lives touched. None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our generous community. Your contributions fuel our missions and ensure every Australian has access to health services. https://lnkd.in/gVpqPeRZ

It was a pleasure to join the Isuzu UTE Australia mid-year town hall event, where we had the opportunity to provide our Major National Partner with deeper insights into the wide range of services we offer. We are honoured to have had Dr Tim Driscoll, Elizabeth Doran and Dr Stevie Dilley represent our organisation for the panel discussion. They shared their unique roles, the challenges they face, and their motivation to work for the RFDS. This was a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of the many services we deliver in Australia. Thank you to the Isuzu UTE team for having us! Photo credit: Isuzu UTE Australia
