This flu season, businesses face the annual challenge of maintaining productivity and ensuring that operations run smoothly. With up to 20% of Australian workers absent for up to a week each year due to flu-related illnesses, the impact of flu on the bottom line can be severe. The question then arises: Are workplace flu vaccinations merely a convenience, or have they become an essential part of workplace health and safety protocols? https://lnkd.in/gnZ4pfrw #workplacefluvaccinations #prevention #corporatehealth #reduceabsenteeism #increaseproductivity #influenza

Occupational sun exposure poses a significant hazard, impacting both outdoor and indoor workers alike. Even sitting near a window can increase your risk. Regardless of your business, regular skin checks are crucial for employee skin health, assisting with early detection of skin cancers. Skin cancer is the cancer that you can SEE, so it’s important to learn the spots on your skin and look for change. SCAN your skin for anything sore, changing, abnormal or new. By being vigilant and spotting changes early, we can catch skin cancer in its early stages when it's most treatable. At Vitality Works, we've partnered with MoleMap Australia & New Zealand to bring skin checks to your workplace. Let's work together to make a difference in the fight against skin cancer and protect our employees!

Despite a growing awareness of mental wellbeing as a key driver of performance, there remains a significant gap between the support provided and the support employees actually use and value. This gap represents both a challenge, and an opportunity for organisations to rethink and reshape their approach to mental health and wellbeing. Is your mental health and wellbeing strategy meeting employees needs and values or is it just ticking the compliance boxes? #mentalwellbeing #workplacementalhealth #EAP #employeementalhealth

As heart week comes to a close, there is never a better time to understand the risks to your organisation and employees. With one Australian having a heart attack or stroke every 4 minutes, understanding the risks have never been more important. Consider a blue-collar utilities company that leveraged our health checks program to enhance their current health and wellbeing strategy. After identifying high levels of cholesterol, blood pressure, and obesity, targeted interventions over four years yielded: Heart age reduction by 3.9 years. 37% decrease in blood cholesterol. 30% reduction in high blood pressure. 18% decrease in insufficient physical activity. Heart Week serves as a vital reminder of the importance of maintaining our health. Workplace health checks not only positively impact employees' lives but also benefit organisations as a whole. When our people are thriving, our business thrives too! #heartweek #healthyemployees #makeadifference #employeewellbeing #workplacehealthchecks

World Sleep Day! It's easy to stay up late, working to meet deadlines in the hope that you'll be more productive. Did you know that Sleeping 7–8 hours per night increases productivity by 20%, while sleeping fewer than 5 hours decreases productivity by 29%? On average, people who have poor sleep, lose 7.2 hours of productivity/week and 38% of workers report feeling tired at work. This can lead to higher risks of workplace accidents and decreased productivity. Our Vitality Hub wellbeing platform, enables employees to track their sleep, and offers suggestions on how the individual can have a higher quality of sleep. With daily check in questions like how many hours did you sleep, did you darken your room or remove devices from your room to improve sleep quality, employees can create new healthy sleeping habits. https://lnkd.in/g7vynwqd
