🌿 Natura &Co's Q3 2024 Financial Results Are In! 📊 This quarter, Natura &Co reached R$6 billion in revenue with an 18.5% year-over-year increase, driven largely by Natura Brazil. Our Adjusted EBITDA grew over 50%, reflecting our commitment to efficient growth. Beyond the numbers, we’re proud to keep driving sustainable impact – investing R$43 million to support Amazonian communities and introducing biogas-powered trucks to reduce emissions across our fleet 🚛💨. We also saw Natura’s latest steps into the world of haute parfumerie, blending unique ingredients from Latin America's biodiversity 🍃 with globally treasured perfumery elements. Reflecting on many special moments in Cali Colombia at COP16 - the Biodiversity COP. A few ideas and insights* that really stuck: 1. We must feel the facts. 🖌️🎵 💃📖 Performance art, poetry, sculpture, dance - all forms of creativity were on display in Cali. The science is clear - what we need to all do is feel moved to take the action the science is telling us (screaming at us) is needed. 2. Progress moves at the speed of trust 🤝 🙏 Global and local partnerships are key to delivering system change. And these partnerships depend on trust to move forward. A question we should all be asking - what role can we play in deepening this required trust so we can move further, faster together? 3. We need macro-level biomimicry. 🌱🌿🌳 Natural systems have many lessons for us when it comes to the design of our economic systems. For example - a natural system will continuously organise and recreate itself - as long as the relationships within the system are healthy. 4. From commitment to implementation. ✅🏃♀️🙏There is a deep hunger for examples where real transition is happening - where commitments have led to meaningful action. We need more case studies - and we need to get these case studies into business education. 5. The power of love. 💓❤️💓There is nothing like it - no greater force. We need the courage to talk about it in business and channel it as a force for good. I’m feeling very lucky to work with many amazing people from across Latin America Priscila Matta Gabriela Weber de Morais Mauro Corrêa da Costa Sabina Zaffora (ella/she/her) Ana Paula Rodrigues Viana Olga Bocanegra Ana Beatriz Macedo da Costa Angela Pinhati who are teaching me about how a business can take action. A few examples include our Biodiversity Policy, blended finance Living Amazon Mechanism, IP&L (Integrated Profit and Loss) and Biodiversity Bond. We are also travelling alongside many friends and fellow travellers including Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), Business for Nature, The B Team, Capitals Coalition, WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development, UEBT). And, of course, we embrace an unwavering belief that it is both necessary and possible to build a regenerative sociobioeconomy in the Amazon. I’m also feeling very proud that Natura CEO João Paulo Ferreira added his voice to support an important letter to President Lula and President Petro calling for us to all #ProtectWhatWeLove by 1. Strengthening the integration of climate and nature 2. Scaling finance for nature and food systems 3. Supporting inclusive participation of Indigenous Peoples and local communities. Next stop for the Natura team - COP29. As the second week of #COP16Colombia commences, we’re calling on all businesses to set #NatureStrategies! 🌱 🔊 Momentum on #Nature is growing, with global initiatives such as the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) picking up pace across the corporate world, and 26 companies so far, including L’OCCITANE Group, Natura &Co and Ørsted having shared their nature strategies through the 'It’s #NowForNature’ campaign. However, more must be done to ensure business plays its crucial part in implementing the #GlobalBiodiversityFramework. To empower more companies to step up, ‘It’s #NowForNature’ now offers Accelerator programs hosted by our partners, which will: 🌎 Provide the essential tools, methodologies and practical learnings needed to develop a credible nature strategy. 🌎 Gather cohorts of committed companies and provide them with subject matter expertise to conduct robust materiality assessments, set science-based targets, define priority actions and secure C-suite or board level approval.
