🚀 Revolutionising Water Treatment Through Innovation: A WSP Success Story 💧 Earlier this month, we had the privilege of hosting the dissemination workshop for the UK Water Industry Research (UKWIR) project, “Sustainable and Resilient Alternatives to Traditional Water Treatment Processes”—a project that pushes the boundaries of sustainable water treatment. With over 55 attendees from major UK water companies, the workshop was described as "one of the best attended" and a testament to the impact of our research. We are incredibly proud that WSP in the UK successfully delivered such a challenging yet crucial project. A huge thank you to my brilliant colleagues at WSP— Martin Pryor, Michalina Smielecka , and Dan Course (who, though no longer with WSP, played a key role)—for their expertise and dedication in making this project a success. Also, sincere appreciation to UKWIR project manager Nina Jones for her unwavering support and outstanding leadership over the past 12 months. A special thanks to the project steering group and representatives from major UK and Republic of Ireland water companies—your guidance and insights have been invaluable. • This year, World Water Day calls attention to glacier preservation, highlighting the uncertainty concerning water flows and associated impacts on people and the planet. Around 40 percent of the world’s population live within 100 kilometers of the coast. Coastal communities often have significant economic and social importance due to the maritime and shipping trade, tourism, fishing industries and coastal real estate. However, coastal regions are among the most vulnerable locations to the impacts of climate change. Learn more about how integrated adaptive planning and design, a comprehensive systems-based approach, can guide decision-making to protect coastlines as well as the social and economic value of coastal infrastructure.
